What we know about the Postcards.
The go-to FAQ

I'm tired of reading the same thing over and over and over again, so I'm making this topic.

1) There are four cards, Arc Wars, Kraz-Bot, Astro Gunner and Vice Squad

2) Four markings are on the back. Current speculation is that they spell out words, but because of so few markings more dots (i.e. cards) are needed to complete the puzzle. So far only cards exist.

3) The dots seem to be arranged by a 8x106 matrix.

4) The lines on the front of the card are from the Postal Service. IGNORE THESE LINES.

5) Vice Squad came out in 1982 and Kraz-Bot in 1983. Arc Wars and Astro Gunner don't have dates but thanks to evidence in Tron, there's reason to believe that Astro Gunner came out in 1982 and Arc Wars in '83 or later.

6) Currently unknown if the dots represent letters, braille, numbers or any other common types of data. There's just simply not enough data on the cards.

7) It's most likely that more cards will be revealed around SDCC (the Tron Legacy panel is July 22nd).

Please comment if I forgot anything important, which I probably did.

I frankly haven't ruled anything out since nobody's been able to reliably get the data to scale. The 6x6 layout seems highly likely, but only if our assumptions about which column a dot goes into when it's not obvious are correct.

I've also looked into mainframe storage code. Problem is that there are reasonably too many possibilities.

Also, we've tried overlaying the dots on maps of the convention center as well as that breadboard diagram from the phony interview.

Hey guys, new to the forum but I have been watching this forum for a while. I got one of the 'golden' tickets to the Toronto Tron trailer. Got a shirt.

I just got the Vice Squad postcard in the mail. I don't have a black light, but judging what I have seen. Has anyone merged all three code blocks over top of each other? Has that revealed anything?

I tried the ADFGVX cipher decode on the combined dot matrix (using both encom and nowplayingatyourlocalarcade as the key) as suggested by wolfpdx I think and that was no joy either.

Yes you did Mr. Sinistar...

How many times and on how many forums do I have to remind you that the original TRON movie story takes place in 1981???

Just a thought - add a link at the top to a pic of the 4 cards & dot patterns?

Cheers

Dude, the ARG and the plot for the movie confirmed that Tron took place in 1982.

If it helps: the timeline on EncomInternational lists July 9, 1982 as the date Kevin Flynn was rehired by the company as SVP of Creative Development — presumably signified by the final shot in the movie.

That also happens to be 28 years ago today.
