The time inconsistency is weird. My guess would be that there is very little chance that a mundane thing can reason that away. But how do we figure it out/what's the significance of it?

The 2 "hellos" aren't exactly identical in length (the first hello is longer), but the voice is definitely Matt's both times. So maybe it's a time warp. I think, though, that it's more likely that some sort of ghost was "impersonating" Matt (hence the inconsistency in length). As others have pointed out, if time went "backwards," we'd notice little to no variation in the amount of daylight. Also, wouldn't Matt run into his other self? It's possible that the tape was tampered with and Matt was knocked out, but that's again unlikely. So maybe this is supernatural?

EDIT: And does no one find it fishy that every time, before a major post or plot development, Matt "goes on vacation?" I think his vacations are linked to all of this in some way.

The main rhing "for" a time warp is that it's bright day when he goes up, but deep dark night when he comes down a few minutes later. Of course he could simply be fooling us....

So, instead of saying that time is in a loop (where the second "hello" is a repeat of the first one), we're saying that time jumps forward? Then why the hello? Also, what on earth does any of this have to do with the creepy car outside his house, the first two tapes, and the significance of the missing tape?

Hopefully our answers will be explained soon.

EDIT: Has anyone seen those weird comments on Matt's last update? They both talk about avoiding at all costs a tall, pale, bald guy. What's with that?

Kaiti, that's exactly the problem with the time jump hypothesis, it had to be pointed out.

Slenderman sounds dumb. I sure hope this is not about that. :-\ Do recall that this was initially carried over here from Marble Hornets, though, so it is quite possible.

Hmm this would be a bummer if it was all about a pre-established ARG. I was hoping for something that started from scratch, since I'm very new at this. And yeah, nils, that was my whole problem with the time warp theory, it just didn't seem like it fit with the game so far.

Hi guys. An absolute beginner here.

I just read the blog posts and saw the videos. I don't know why but he mentions several times that his attic is cold while the rest of his house is "too hot". Could this be of any importance (maybe those X switches have something to do with it; I mean he mentions it... 3 or even more times)?

Also, what's up with those "CB#:*********" marks on the end of some posts?

OK, regarding the second video; something is fired up in the end, some kind of a machine and it gets louder and louder; could those X switches be connected with the machine?
I also emailed him asking if he recognizes the place from the second video.
