And, don't you think, if the current makers of the blog worked for PARAMOUNT (with inside information-however little it may be), they would be fired for doing this? Unless it's part of some type of "plan?"

Looks like they were fired.
Tho, it seems to fester and boil!

Has anyone tried to .PARA for the "mount" of the DEVICE?

"Rocket Poppeteer" popsicle picture

In my opinion, that image with the popsicle looks totally doctored, and in a terrible way too. I'm very experienced in Photoshop and other programs, I'm a professional photographer/film-maker who has seen a lot of images like this, and when I look at this photograph, it looks like an individual with little experience was trying too hard to intentionally composite that popsicle into the actual original photograph. This is just my opinion.

I definitely agree that when I first saw that picture it looked doctored. This is my question. the April 29th picture with super 8 mm film was posted, like I said, on April 29th. which was BEFORE the Super 8 trailer was even released before Iron Man 2. coincidence? i honestly don't know...

I think that's an interesting point. My personal opinion: the hope in me wants to say that it's not a coincidence, but logically it seems like it could be just a coincidence. The only things that would make me think it could be something more, why super 8mm film? Super 8 film isn't tangible, it isn't preferred, it's definitely not industry standard, and it's a pain to work with anymore, because the technology to process it/play it/scan it etc etc isn't that easy to come by. Sure you can buy things on ebay, and from collectors or what have you, but the quality of that image is very high considering it was scanned from super 8mm film. One last thing that kind of makes me curious, the mentioning of the fact that the image was "scanned from super 8mm film" seems interesting to me, especially how it's directly on top of the image itself. Once again, these things are just my opinion based on experience and observation.

If it helps: the [OOG] in the title of this thread means Out of Game, meaning that the subject — 500 Rads — is not associated with the SUPER 8 movie or its ARG, as much as it and its authors might want to pretend it is.

Enjoy it if you like, but it bears no official relationship to SUPER 8.

Thank you, for being kind and informative, but I already knew what OOG meant, and that 500Rads is OOG. I just like talking about things that seem interesting to my brain. Very Happy

Please Stop! Your killing me. It had NOTHING to do with Cloverfield and has NOTHING to do with Super 8. Any simpleton could create a blog or a website or a Facebook page and make a connection to an ARG. That does not make it part of the game. If I took a picture of my cat eating a rocket shaped Popsicle riding a Ceolacanth and wearing a red box hat then posted it online does not make it "in game". Listen, 500rads was created years before Super 8, logic should tell you that there is now way it's related. It's silly and ignorant for people to consistently shrug off all the hard work people have put into discrediting this kind of stuff.

Hopefully SoIntoThis is now as hip to 500Rads as you are.

anger

Yell at me for saying this, but I have been looking at this thread and people on this forum seem to be a little bit too quick to yell at n00bz(though not blatantly called this) and others new to ARGs and this whole process. Just because someone may not have heard of 500 rads before doesn't mean they're stupid OR just bringing it up to harass all you well seasoned veterans. Just putting in my two cents, but I think you guys should be a LITTLE bit nicer to people who are clearly just confused.

Look... I understand... this is my first go at ARG too and even I've figured out whats going on. They just want their point made to us newcomers that you need to do your research; and not be lazy. If you don't understand something... search the forum and figure it out. If you think you found something new... search the forum.

Otherwise, threads get so many posts it gets confusing for everyone. Rolling Eyes

and before you know it you too will be frustrated everytime some posts:

Your point's valid, but on the other hand we have new forum members — often anonymous guests, not even registered members — who start their posts by literally saying "I don't have time to read all these pages, but here's my new idea..." when it's not a new idea at all.

Such guests begin with a lack of respect for the work done prior to their arrival. That gets tiring very fast, and it's hard to show respect back to people with such first-impression attitudes. Trouting and such is not about slamming newbies or expecting worship of veterans — it's simply about mutual respect.

There are plenty of sticky topics at the VERY TOP of the forum directory which encourage new people to read them FIRST before posting. When people ignore that simple request, it's a bad start for them and shows disrpect for all here, new or veteran. Multiply that by dozens of repeated examples a day, and yes, patience wears thin.

Give respect, earn respect — it works both ways here, and is a very welcome equation to those who observe it. Hope that makes people seem a little less mean to you, Creeper. Cheers!

I was welcomed with open arms, I took time to read the posts related to the things I wanted to talk about, yeah it took me a while, but it was worth it. It (mostly) made for an interesting read and I was up to speed in no time.
