Hey! Cut them a break! That book is expensive! I know... I bought the soft cover edition too...

Nice find though. Would that count as an easter egg? haha

Just read the Wiki on that book. Could they be taking something of the story telling from it? Ie, a house that slenderman built?

Went ahead and made a quick Advertisment in Excel.

Comments? Constructive Critisism? Anything?

EDIT: Two ads per page. Not that I am a tree-hugger, or anything.

There's also the possibility that only certain people can see Slenderman, that you need to have summoned or pissed him off somehow. I can think of a few interpretations of the eye imagery in that vein... open your eyes to what's really going on, he can see you, I know you can see him, etc.

I put forth the idea that, because Slendy seems to be growing out of the eyeball, it may be suggesting that Slendy is the (iiironic) "eyes" of something else, some other larger force. Nothing to support this idea, however, except the drawing and wild speculation.

Maybe in tone and structure, but I don't think think they'd pull anything strait out of the book like that.

Anyone else want to be best friends with the EMH guys? It's not just me, right?

Oh, totally.

Megarain, it isn't implicated that it's the house, but rather the space it occupies, or something that shares its space with the house. There's nothing tangible "causing" it.

Really one of the larger themes of the book was the drive to "know" or "discover" or "rationalize" a concept that really can't have any of those things done to it. One character in particular became pretty hostile about it. He saw it as sort of a challenge, and got angrier about it as time went on. It didn't end well.

Unfortunately this' leading me to believe that (and it might be too early to call, don't get me wrong) Vince is going to suffer or die as a result of that drive at some point. After Jeff apparently experienced something, he showed the same sort of frustration.

Let it win? He admits himself that he can't put a name to it.

Then there's impossible physical spaces/travel, but EMH hasn't really dealt with that yet, and MH did it in its own way.

And then there's Evan and his knives. Such an obvious but awesome Chekhov's Gun that I'm wondering about and seriously considering the possibility that Vince's death will be connected to it. Poetically, with this newest video, it would only make sense!

Anybody who read or wants to read the wiki on HOUSE OF LEAVES - spare it. I mean it. No summary of this book could summarize what it is like to actually read it and what happens. Imagine somebody would summarize the end of Psycho by writing "The girl goes to the basement and finds a corpse. Norman is questioned by the police. The end."

Also, for any HoL fans - read PALE FIRE by Vladimir Nabokov. Actually, read anything by Nabokov, but PALE FIRE is a huge inspiration of HoL.

ANYWAYS...

I just now was made aware of Evan having a Knife fetish. Seriously, the guy is shown with knifes ALL THE TIME!! It's no coincidence for sure, and I honestly wonder if there is more we have "missed", for example the part with the girlfriend...

I have to say it again: the plotting by those guys is WAY ahead of us!!

That's what I mean. It reminds me of some of Lovecraft stuff I've read.
