Thanks, Eric!
Now that that's cleared up!

And yes, I do make music. Just a regular guy unfortunately though Embarassed

Hope this clears any confusion so nobody looks further into it and wastes their time. Very cool to see my name become a hot topic though. I have to check this site more regularly, lol.

Geek

I don't feel burned at all ... If anything, I'm relieved.
My search was based on the fact that E. Schuran had not been crossed of the most recently posted list.
And the coincidental finding of the Schuran Jeststream made perfect sense (with the information we had so far), that Josh MUST have a Salt Water tank.

Also, I don't think anyone should be chastised for posting "theories"!

Furthermore, I STOPPED checking FB and YT for any info regarding "IG" characters, as YOU HAVE ALL pointed out the Minker stuff was faked.
So ... Eric's FB (and honesty) confirms FB can be crossed off the list of any possible relationship with this game.

It's just a good thing I didn't post any anagrammed research I did ... LOL!

i dont think that was fair, like he said if no one posted up their ideas because of the backlash they would get, then we would get nowhere. yea i get where ur coming from bout some of his posts but like seriously ive seen in topics where a page or 2 has nothing to do with the topic at all and is just nonsense. at least abstract ideas are being brought out.

jus my 2cents

I sure don't fear the backlash. It's entertaining me while there is nothing new. Smile

Ras had a strange but honest connection to the water pump thingy. But I've seen plunty stranger from others here. all ideas are stupid until verified. But that don't make them bad. Smile

Keep up the good work everyone! Wink

The point is NOT to dissuade people from posting THEORIES here. Of course we're all going to do that.

I was simply suggesting (before panties got wadded) that we eliminate including discussions of items that even the poster labels OOG within those theories.

If players want to post "here's some interesting stuff I found that's tangentially related but it's not In Game", then label it OOG at the subject line and keep it separate from theories which could be IG. That's simple enough, right?

Then readers can skip the OOG content when compiling ideas about IG play, instead of having sift though extraneous paragraphs to find one relevant nugget that's worthwhile.

Yes, Ras, I too am talking about making the game EASIER to play, not harder. Labeling OOG data as such will accomplish just that. And if such discoveries become IG, then can be relabled as such... again to help players find them quickly, also speeding up gameplay.

But mixing long passages of "interesting" with "revelant" just makes the task more difficult and risks having good info lost in the crowd of words.

Ras' photo of pens

Ras;

I had asked how you got to the photo of pens. The last thing you said on the matter was:

"As for the "search" function ... I see what you mean.
On my work computer, I only got pictures from reefcentral.com
(If anyone is a member there, they can do a search and see if Josh is also a member.)
On my home computer, I get many more pictures.
I think I may have just typed: "jetstream +fish"
(Both the calcium reactor and many pictures of pens pop up.)"

However, when you first stated your find you stated:

"I looked up "Schuran Jetstream" ... It's real. (Prob OOG)
http://www.schuran.com/english/calciumsea.html
These are used for "Salt Water" aquariums!

However, when I type it into "images", a very curious photo popped up"

I initially typed "Schuran Jetstream" and after 10 pages on google images could not find your photo. That's why I asked.

Since your last reply, I typed "jetstream +fish", "jetstream and fish", "jetstream fish", and the two words with no quotation marks, and still could not find the "curious photo" that you posted of the pens.

I have no clue who you are, what your motives are, and am not questioning either. But what I do question is your supporting evidence. I have tried to be clear, with links to interesting things I've found so that others can refer to them as well.

Without the ability to cross-check what we've each found it can call into questions where the info really is really located, its relevance, and its author. Without substantiation, I can see someone questioning whether the photo you posted came from your album on photobucket.

Can you clarify how you reached the photobucket photo of the pens from the words (above) that you claim to have typed into "images?"

Guys I'm checking out of this game. Wading through these posts has just stopped being any fun.

To be fair, the game itself has failed to hold any interest for me for a while. I was hoping the calendars would spark more interest in it for me but it didn't.

Hopefully I see some of you around in other games. You guys play nice, now.

It's not my photobucket album.

I see what you mean:

I think it was some kind of combo I had formed from the SJCR info (Jetstream) combined with "eric" and/or "fish" (or all three).

Once I saw the picture, I got excited and quickly cropped and posted here.

Sorry for any confusion. I searched through my "history" folder and found the link to the picture in question: http://sgforums.com/forums/2292/topics/278548 ... I will have to dig more to see what exactly I typed.

I also do not know how to get to the Photobucket page as I "right-clicked" and viewed image/copy/paste.

I will be more careful, and record my searches in the future.

No motive other than try to find clues; add my opinions; and enjoy the game.

Starting to get to this point too... not holding my interest, and I don't feel like jumping into any games that are past ground floor, so to speak. I'm still waiting for this to get interesting... but right now it's got nothing going for it and doesn't seem to be managed very well.

Lame, I had high hopes. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong, and hopefully soon! This is boring!

I hope you will check back when things "heat up."

Sorry to see you want to go.

Will miss you.

theory on acquisition of film

I'm new to this, and I did a search on the pillbox hat and did not find anything immediately similar - if I missed something, please be gentle.

It occurred to me that Josh acquired the film because it was included in the box with the hat that was sent back to him as a result of the "deadbeat buyer."

Notice that the hat is the only item that is reposted on craigslist, and we see it on top of an opened box in the picture with the June 21 printout.

So, previously Josh sent the hat to the person he thought was buying it only to have it returned - perhaps because the "deadbeat buyer" needed to get rid of the film. He opened the box - either because he couldn't reuse it or had reason to think something was in it. When he opened it the film was in it.

Possible supporting facts - on his May 2 Coelacanth blog he expresses frustration about not being able to get rid of old collectables. So maybe he tried to sell the hat soon after his Mom's death.

Speculating further - Josh wanted to authenticate something when he posted on the ATS web site on June 5 - meaning at that point he had time to review the film. Perhaps he connected with someone who knew what the film was and Josh sent a picture to verify it was in his possession. Given the number of quotation arrows on the 6/21 printout, it seems as though the people having the conversation do not know Josh and became aware the film of the films (re?)emergence through the verification photo, potentially taken by Josh who was trying to figure out what he was dealing with.

In short - I am thinking that the film was sent to Josh by the "deadbeat buyer."

So Josh sends a package to someone without receiving payment (?); that person opens the package; places the film in either another package and writes Josh's address on it and ships, or the same package and somehow puts Josh's address on another side of the box, erases his, and sends the package back to Josh with the film in it. Why? Why Josh?

This is very interesting speculation. I've tried to look through info to grasp something about the deadbeat buyer as well, but I never thought that the "deadbeat" would have returned the box with the film in it for Josh to find. Maybe he's also the guy Josh, presumably, is corresponding with on STIES

Shellys Last Name and Golden Ratio

Just a thought that I had. Diverges a little from the current train of thought but I wanted to throw it out there.

Has anyone else noticed that there are 8 X's after Shelly's name. There are also 8 numbers in the Golden Ratio: 16180339

"Shelly XXXXXXXX"
16180339

Could the Golden Ratio perhaps be a code to finding out Shellys last name? I may be stretching here but thought this was a coincidence worth mentioning.

8 Numbers in Golden Ratio
8 Letters in her last name
Title is Super 8 (refers to film I know, but maybe JJ is running with a thing for 8's)

Thoughts?
