Huh, I got the email too, but dismissed it as an ARG when I found out it was a real museum.

The funny thing is, I actually went to a museum today. Laughing

BuzyBea, one of the Museum Volunteers just posted this

Quote:
Hi guys, it's so lovely to see you all on here!

I'm Beatrice, but just call me Bea. It's easier! Anyway, I'm one of the volunteers at Avoncroft, and I'm pleased to meet you all Smile There's a bit about me somewhere on here, but mainly, I love cartoons and history, though not usually at the same time...

Maybe that's implying we should search around for the 'bit' she's referring to?

EDIT: Nm, I think she was referring to an earlier post where she gave a more detailed description of her interests. On an irrelevant note, she likes to say 'fail' a whole lot.

EDIT: I've noticed that members on the forum have karma points, and you can "exalt" or "smite" other members. Think it's related?

Exalting adds 1 karma (tracked below your avatar), so by deduction, smiting takes one away I suppose. Looks like a way for the forums to help police themselves.

Exactly right, but it's a feature of the free forum their using and therefore I believe is OOG, though it would be relatively easy to implement if they wished. Quote from a proboards admin:
Quote:
It's basically a rating member system on Proboards. If you exalt someone, they get a positive point. If you smite someone, they recieve a negative point.

Honestly I feel a little bad their using this forum, there are much better options out there, free ones too. But it should suffice.

ETA: I'm mostly sad it doesn't support RSS Sad

ETA2: If you look here http://asaproject.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=viewprofile&user=admin it says Sarah Butler has made 17 posts but if you click view recent posts or go here http://asaproject.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=userrecentposts&user=admin it only shows 3. So there is definitely a hidden forum, my guess is it's just behind the scenes stuff but ya never know.

Interesting. Now it shows only 4 posts for Sarah, all of them visible. I'm wondering if they're monitoring us on here.

However, the 3 volunteers still each have an invisible post or two. Let's see if that changes now that I've mentioned it.

Also, if you look here:

http://asaproject.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=members

you'll notice that there are 3 staff members who haven't made an appearance yet: GeorgeD, Kirst_x, and Siobhan. There's also an email address for Sarah Butler.

And I do believe he just posted here:

http://asaproject.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=info&action=display&thread=17

According to his twitter, he's Simon Carter, the director of the museum, but he's not showing staff colors. Let's see what he says when asked about it, shall we?

according to Anna via the ASA forum:

Quote:
We're hoping to get the photos up today or tomorrow, the first set. We've got to go through the reams we've taken and decide what's interesting and what isn't! And I think Bea was mentioning some more shots she wanted from a couple of the rooms, so we'll see. But you'll definitely get something today or tomorrow. Smile

looks like we won't have to wait long...

He is showing museum colors now. Must have been an oversight initially. He's even got a special title of Museum Director, so everything seems legit.

Would have been funny if someone was trying to gamejack them before the game even started.

First set of photos of the Prefab are up!
http://asaproject.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=sofar&action=display&thread=19

I don't see anything too out of the ordinary, other than that metal shed in the last shot...

Neither can I, at first glance nothing seems that out of the ordinary...

Two more sets of photos posted, and this from Bea:

Quote:
We've spent a fair bit of time in that building over the last few days, and... I dunno. Something just felt off, somehow. I could swear something was different in there, but I can't tell what it was.

So, I'm wondering if we're supposed to notice differences in the pictures, like things disappearing or changing location...

ETA: So far, the only difference we've noticed is that the books on the table next to the 'recliner' thing look like they've been moved around, when you compare the photos from the different sets. Also, Sarah posted this when I asked about the picture on the table next to the mantle:
Quote:
I've asked about the picture for you; we're not 100% sure, but we think it's one of the relatives of the last person to live in the prefab before it was donated to us. A lot of the objects in there now came from her, apparently! Smile

heh...I wonder if she wants her stuff back.
