Gosh, don't come on here for a day and you miss so much.
Thanks for posting the pictures, Ras. I wish I would have sent mine in but I don't even know how to send a letter. Pathetic hahah.

Oddly, 58706 is not yet registered (according to one net source: http://zipinfo.com/cgi-local/zipsrch.exe?zip=58706&cnty=cnty&ac=ac&tz=tz&ll=ll&cd=cd)

It's not uncommon to have a branch office where the mail is received, and yet, once the forms are collected, and letters are ready to send, they're posted from a closer local branch.

Edit: Not Oh, but ND, doh!

58702 is for PO boxes only, so no mail can be sent from there (I assume).

So if the mailing didnt make us certified I wonder what will ? I mean wherever this leads wonder if its a sign up or something?

Could the number of stars be a certain constellation or area of sky or something that would give us a name or something?

Now what?

How do we keep in contact?
i.e. Are we supposed to send our answers back to the same address?

Maybe RP site will open up once the PMs feel the first wave have all gotten replies.

What if there is only 1 star? Perhaps Coop is the only star.Star as in famous?

Edit- Also by saying how many stars are on this page, page sounds to me to be referring to the RP.com page.Plus its asking that next to the RP.com page picture. So perhaps it only has something to do with the page itself?

To be honest I think the star count is 17 (8 outlined stars + 8 whole stars + 1 containing the challenge) because the whole idea behind the Rocket Poppeteers thing is that it's aimed towards children who wouldn't be looking into this nearly as much as the people it's actually being sent to (us). Otherwise, one could say that those 8 outlined stars are really just a white star on top of a black one, adding another 8 to the count. Plus, I can't even make out any stars on the flag on the rocket ship itself at the resolution they printed these out at.

Anyways, I wonder if the pattern means anything? Going clockwise from the right of creepy Captain "Coop" Cooper's head we get (not counting the big one):
1 Outlined
2 Whole
2 Outlined
2 Whole
2 Outlined
1 Outlined
2 Whole
2 Outlined
2 Whole

After actually typing it up, I do see that it does follow a sequence, a pattern of five beginning with 1O(utline) then 2W(hole) 2O 2W 2O, with a second repetition getting cut off before the last 2 outlined stars. Is this meaningful? Are the last two stars hidden somewhere? Should the big star be included as the only single whole star? If so, does the sequence 1O 2W 2O 2W 1W 2O 1O 2W 2O 2W make more sense? Or is it just in the wrong order, considering going clockwise from Coops head is relatively arbitrary? Also what about the stars on the envelope? Actually let me look at that real quick...

Front has a black bg around the ship, so the star color is reversed. The pattern going clockwise in the same way as the letter is:
1 O
1 W
2 O
1 O
1 W
1 W

The back is limited to the small flap at the top, so I'll go left to right:
2 O
2 W
1 W
1 O
1 O
2 W
2 O
1 W

The order of the last two was a judgment call as the whole star was situated "between" the first and second stars of the outlined pair, but since the pair began "before" the location of the single whole star, I placed it before it. If you want to see for yourself before you receive your own or if you haven't sent your form in simply refer to Burn28's and RasGold's scans.
I don't see a pattern in either, or at least one isn't jumping out at me like it was with the initial one from the letter. One thing that does strike me, though, is that they stick to only singles and pairs, and that the pairs are always with similar stars. I haven't factored in the size of the stars, but if somebody's willing to do that, that'd be great.

Also, the watermark on mine is simply backwards as opposed to backwards and upside-down as it is in Mister_Servo's/Frost's.

P.S.: I am Billy Swan. Wink

Wanted to add my two cents on the watermark. If it was something that was IG I think they would have payed more attention to it's positioning. On my letter the watermark is where the Poppeteer logo is, so you can't really see it clearly.

Given all of the new information, I agree the watermark is likely out of game. It's strange for something like that to be OOG though. Maybe southworth wanted in on the viral marketing Confused

I see the stars

I got my letter from RP yesterday, and I count 17 stars just like several other players. I can only make one connection with the stars and that is the constellation URSA MAJOR. It is a large, well known constellation comrpising of 17 stars.

I hope this is on some value to someone

According to the information from the southwork website, watermark paper is used to authenticate that the sheets of a document are made from the same ream of paper. So, I bet we will have to identify a document, yet to be discovered, as IG. The documents that Josh wrote about on above top secret, could be one of them, linking RP and minker if we see the same watermark. That raise the question, why someone inside RP could be involved in a space mystery involving USAF?
