The poll is rigged. D: I have been using my social networking to vote for Sock Puppets, it won't raise past 11. Damn, it's meant to be a tie.

@helter: Gnomeatic.

It's mostly cause I almost never put my address in those form thingies. Not on first blush at least.

Edit: awww hell I just re-read the posting that's says

I just received an email from Gnomeatic titled 'Choamsky's international travels', and I was rather excited until I read the email.

Gnomeatic wrote:
Hi there!

I'm sending this because you signed up to host Gnome Choamsky. Unfortunately, I have some bad news. Due to the ever increasing cost of international shipping, shipping to your international place of residence would be at least twenty dollars minimum for a gnome such as our boss. We at the IFILR can't in good faith require its members to pay that much. Therefore, I'm very sorry to say that Choamsky won't be able to travel to your country. (Unless you yourself have a lot of human money and can cover the costs—in which case I also have numerous business propositions for you!)

If you would still join in the fun, you can make an origami Choamsky and take a picture with him. It's almost as good as the real thing!

With regrets,

Gnomeatic

Ah well, I was kind of expecting that, and I totally agree. I wonder if I could fold a thousand paper gnomes?

!!Congrats Shirtyscott!! The poll now shows a tie-breaking vote between us & a lil msg. Am in awe of your "sock person", esp. since I can barely sow on a button. Laughing

Congratulations to Duasso, our sock puppet comrade, for winning the IFILR propaganda contest! You and one other randomly chosen person will get a small gift from the IFILR as thanks—just as soon as we get Choamsky on the road.

Nice to see ya FractalP: Postage to Holland is pretty reasonable yet I also mentioned to Gnomeatic that I respected their budget concerns. So no windmill-riding for Choamsky, an extreme sport for a Gnome. Rolling Eyes **wondering about making a papier-mâché gnome or just a chillin', pie-eating summer**

Hey amandel! Nice to see you too Very Happy I don't know what exactly windmill-riding entails but it sounds pretty darn fun.

A papier-mache gnomes sounds like an awesome idea. I recently acquired a packet of modelling balloons, so I'll see if I can figure out how to twist a balloon gnomes. This should be fun Very Happy

In regards to my msg to Gnomeatic yesterday on evacuating Barrel I just received this reply.

Well, there's a bit of a problem with that. Sorry, I've been mostly away trying to recover Barrel. He's gone missing. Again.

Maybe Barrel will be our first captured comrade...

Anyway, I replied:

How soon did you arrive for evac after his escape? Apparently not only Giddings, but the cops were there also at warehouse EC4, though.

Yep, new post on IFILR Recruitment confirms it:

Well, Barrel has gone missing. Again. His last known location was in central New Jersey. We sent a recovery team down and he wasn't there.

I really doubt he would even be noticed by human police. He's rather, well, small. Even for a gnome.

Answer to my last question. Barrel is still missing. He may just be lost and wandering. Maybe someone in contact with Giddings could ask him if he saw anything small and odd?

Tiny lil Gnome. Richard said that Barrel had fit in his pocket. And I got this in reply to asking if he'd gone searching for a snack:

Good idea, but he can't walk that fast. Hrm.

We should get some sort of update today:

I think he meant @IFILR_Choamsky will be leaving at the beginning of next week. Vick then wrote:

It looks like Texas is the last leg of the trip. If you still want to do the hand off then we can meet somewhere between Dallas and Ft. Worth. From there it looks like it goes to Austin.
