Does anyone know if the Charlotte Calazes trailhead is still open? I threw her a friend invite.

 Funnel Productions is stirring

Not yet an ARG, but good news for those of us who enjoyed MOTP, Creepy Luny Inn or Purity Towers: new tweets from Funnel Productions

Argleton anyone?

Thanks to my donation to Socks Inc, I received a Kickstarter newsletter. Should have been junk mail but something caught my eye.

Quote:
The town that doesn't exist

Suw Charman-Anderson's intriguing project is rooted in a mystery introduced by Google Maps, of all things. Based on the real-life appearance of a nonexistent town called Argleton on Google Maps, Suw will creatively investigate its puzzling origins. Like the story itself, her rewards are filled with secret delights, including multimedia texts and one-of-a-kind hand-bound, handwritten copies of the book.

Here's the link but there's a hitch. In order to participate, there is a $3 minimum donation. I'm thinking of donating just because, well it's Argleton. The puzzle aspect seems kind of enticing, too.

eta: I pledged 5 bucks.

I got a weird IM today directing me to http://zombo.com/

This isn't a trailhead right?

The voice sounds like the guy from the Old Spice commercial...?

I tried to sign up for the newsletter but the link led nowhere

http://www.zombo.com/join1.htm

I think http://www.obmoz.com/obmoz.swf is an evil twin brother.

I don't know what zombo v. obmoz is, but....

http://www.myspace.com/obmoz

http://www.myspace.com/zombosspace

and then http://www.obmoz.com/

points to http://www.spiralviral.com/

and there's some stuff in the source of obmoz.com that is PKCS7 "encrypted"? (I don't really understand what PKCS7 is, but: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptographic_Message_Syntax) oh never mind, that's related to the paypal link. :/

Oh, ha, here we go: http://www.aboutus.org/Zombo.com

I thought it might be ARGish but also skeptical of the email adress. Thought it could be junk.

I just got a PM from shrtyscott3 asking why I forwarded him this email. I told him I did not. It turns out he was blind copied on it. So did anyone else receive it? The numbers seem random. I've replied with the standard "Escuse me?" but haven't heard back yet.

With the repetition of some of the numbers, I'd hazard a guess it's a trailhead. Seems like a substitution cipher to me.

I'd be surprised if it weren't substitution. But without figuring out the "key", it's gonna be hard to find the solution as I'm pretty sure there are different numbers for caps and lower-case letters.

I'm waiting to get a reply before I go bashing my head trying to brute force some cyphertext from that string of numbers.

I really do dislike trailheads that take an inordinate amount of work... The trailhead's supposed to be EASY! You can make the rest of the game as hard as you want, but it's best to let people find your game first without having them jump through hoops.

Totally agree Nighthawk. Just hope if it is a trailhead, that it's a good game if it's starting off this difficult.
