All the stuff on the poster is fake, imho. not just fake, but fake fake, as in, not actual clues.

Just me 2 farthings.

That's my take as well since I don't expect real clues for another two weeks. I was interested in the poster more for amusement than clues but would rather be thorough.

I thought the new video was cool, it still seems like this is a high end investment for who ever is running this, it has to be for something big! As everyone has said the movie poster has jumped out at me, however reading everyones posts has shown that l dont think there is much here.

The one thing that l got from this and the other videos is that the box or chest holding the coins is always the same which is going to be how we recognize it if we find it, it has the skull type octopus on the front of it, just my two cents.

Man, you know... even though these are big fishies running this (based on how much money has gone into the campaign so far), I'm really impressed with the level of personal interaction and the quality of the humor. I'm not saying it's intense or extended interaction, nor am I saying that the interaction is meaningful or clue-imparting. However, what interaction I've been having with Mulligan and the Captain on Twitter really just slays me. Slays.

I guess what I'm saying is: if you haven't talked to the pirates, you really should. They are just as cute one-on-one as en masse.

Im guessing it never hurts to follow up on anything in an ARG but I agree that the poster is probably there just to throw out a few red herrings. Follow your pirate/ninja senses as you please i guess!

and i agree, i have stayed off of twitter for the longest time but i cant help but go on to look at the captain's and mulligans posts.

PMs if you are watching us, thank you for the excellent writing ::applauds::

I love the one shot of them sitting at a table on their ship, and everyone's got metal flagons, except for Tom. he's got a ceramic carafe of sake with a sake cup.

Today's the day! Their Facebook page says...

I'm going to assume that's 5pm EDT.

Seems likely. It's not GMT, else it would have happened already, lol.

*waits eagerly and impatiently*

EDIT: This flag identifier looks as good as any, and it doesn't know of any flag that looks like that : http://www.flagid.org/FI_CO.asp?qa=0011000

Though they do seem fairly good at identifying unknown flags, so if it seems later like it might be a plot device, these guys might be ones to ask.

It's up!

And the ship is the Maddie Hayes, btw.

*goes to watch*

EDIT: Awwwww pirates. <3

I think I'll have to watch it a few times, but...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I'm assuming that Mulligan was trying to tell us to trace their footsteps (bless!). And start in Central Park, obviously.

I don't know New York at all, but something about a Dark Statue of Balto (sp?) and Cap'n says "after a cave, we went between cape shakespeare and columbus rock".

And Mulligan kept going on about morse code, which I don't know if that's relevant or not. lol

It was adorable, anyways. XD

EDIT 2: *cough* too slow. lol

joining the game Very Happy

start in central park is obvious enough, at the Balto statue (google says there's one in new york). After that, no idea, naturally - between "cape shakespeare" and "columbus rock". There's a Columbus circle in NYC, but I don't know if there's one big rock there or something.

Tom listed off 12 numbers - 6323 6251 6229. Too long for a phone number - maybe GPS coordinateS? Longitude and latitude or something? Captain did say that clue wouldn't make any sense until the next episode, though.

"Red hail and bloody death" and "between wind and water" was said at the end... "between wind and water" is from Shakespeare. Not sure how it relates specifically,t hough.

Anyone want to transcribe the morse code the parrot and pirate are reciting in the video and translate??

I'm thinking that the "cape" will be a sticky-out piece of land somehow relating in name to Shakespeare (William, Stratford, bard, etc?) and the "rock" will be an island relating to Columbus. Since they're pirates, it makes sense that they sailed between the two. Smile

EDIT: Alternatively, if it's a walking trail, there is the Delacorte Theatre, which is in Central PArk (in line with 80th street) which shows "Shakespeare in the Park". Columbus Avenue runs parallel with the north-west side of the park.
