Do you remember what that other card was, or what you needed to unlock it? I'm in desperate need of a way to get Seeking Mr Eaten's Name 4, so all I should need to do is find that card 3 times (I already played the one that makes you lose connected: masters. In fact, I can confirm that it makes you lose at LEAST 4 points in connected: masters, because that's how many I had when I played the card: connected: masters 2, plus 1/3 of the way to 3. So in total, 4 exp points. And I lost ALL of them, which sucks really hard, because those took forever to build up).

I'm curious. Has anyone made an acquaintance of the Sardonic Music-Hall Singer? I've come across her name as part of the recurring dreams: What the Thunder Said storyline but haven't heard of her before. Wasn't sure if she was entirely new or part of an ambition I wasn't privy to.

I was wondering that as well, but all searches return nothing. It's almost certainly new content. The EBZ people aren't ones to add acquaintances to areas where people too far in the storyline can miss, but it might indeed be new content exclusively for people on the Light Fingers or Bag a Legend ambitions.

If I had to guess, I would try going to the Scandal 5 area and trying every opportunity card possible. IIRC, that's how you get the acquaintance that's in New Newgate; it's not impossible that they've added an acquaintance to the tomb colonies.

I still need info on the cards unlocked by Seeking Mr Eaten's Name 3.

Also, if anyone has any information on the number of Points you get in Connected: Masters through the opportunity card that costs 10,000 proscribed texts to use (homage to mr pages; you need 100 proscribed texts just to unlock it, but using it is way more), I'd really love that. If it's less than 4 points (which would get you from no connected: masters to connected: master 2 with 1/3 of the way to level 3), then the card simply isn't worth it. I'd be statistically more likely to acquire that much connected: masters by obtaining and using up nephrite lenses stolen in Knife and Candle over time (that is, until content is expanded in EBZ to a high enough level such that obtaining 400 echoes (or 800 echoes, if you have to buy them yourself rather than finding them all) of proscribed texts is less of a hassle).

I must say, losing ALL of my Connected: Masters was a really nasty shock - I too had it at 2 1/3, after having put forth 10,000 Proscribed Texts once and selected both storyline events that raised it. I was looking forward to finally being able to raise it at Ms. Plenty's Carnival - now I'm really rather skeptical about trying to build it back up again via ridiculous amounts of Texts. It was a pretty discouraging blow, especially with how rare/difficult it was to build up that quality over the entirety of my time playing EBZ.

What, if I may ask, do people find to be the best way to bring in Echoes or Proscribed Texts? Currently, I'm using the "Reaping the academic benefits" storylet in the Forgotten Quarter - 21 Proscribed Texts per action. This seems a bit faster than trying to raise 800 Echoes, six times to get it to Level 3.

Oh, and what experience do people have with the "What profit?" opportunity card? (Selling your soul - options are to sell it for 1000 Nevercold Brass Slivers, throw the devil out, or try to bargain him up to 1500 [almost impossible at Persuasive 95 or so])

So when you escape from a state of some confusion you apparently lose all your dreams as well as your nightmares...

The card is called "An ivied wall", unlocked with seeking Mr Eaten's Name 3.
It takes wounds up significantly, decreases dangerous by quite a bit, decreases shadowy by quite a bit. Also increases suspicion.

The card did warn us that it was unwise...
