Hi, just a minor correction -- it's her uncle, not her dad, that owns a fab shop.

"Cultural Anthropology", that's right... So... Maybe... Let me get back to you on that one... Though it does make sense that she's interested in such a class given her interest in people and the way the behave.

It also makes a lot of sense that a retired spy would be teaching such a class. Who better to do it, frankly?

(You know, they say there are professors here who keep an eye out for potential spy recruits, and if you've got what it takes, they invite you to a secret dinner party and ask you to join MI5 or MI6. However, it's mostly myth now, but it certainly fits with the future approach!)

It is true over here yes... But, if her parents were better off, and she didn't have much money herself, I would think she'd at least be living in the dorms.

She lives in an apartment with fighting lovers next door.
It seems to be a crappy apartment, but probably better than dorms.
Or at least better than the south campus dorms at my school.

Just FYI, the friend she calls is in Kentucky (she says something like "it's hot here in KY, but quieter"). It sounded like this was her home state, and given the accent, it works.

Not for nothin', but The Candidate sounds a lot like the actress Emily Procter to me. http://www.emilyprocter.com

Here's my thoughts...

I think these new wav files may contain information that we will need the next time Melissa contacts us.

Here's why:

1. We weren't supposed to know about the hidden recipe3 wavs, but SP helped us find it.

2. The hidden recipe3 wavs gave us the ship name, Apocalypso.

3. Next round, Melissa asks what ship we are assigned to. Without the recipe3 wavs (which Melissa hid from us) we wouldn't have known how to reply.

4. Therefore, I believe the SP showed us where to find the clips so that we would be ready when Melissa contacted us, so that we could earn her trust.

5. We weren't supposed to know about the hidden wav files (commissary_shoes, etc.) which SP gave us clues to find, just like step 1 above.

Thus, if the pattern continues, there could be something important in these hidden wav files that helps us answer Melissa the next time she contacts us (axons or whatnot).

Just my thoughts...

However that pattern has been broken by the week of hidden SP files that we didn't need. key_lime and candidate had nothing to do with the Captain Greene question. But it's a nice spec anyway. We will probably need this information at some point!

It's an interesting thought that the SP showed us the files so we would win the Queen's trust. Certainly without 'em we wouldn't have been able to enhotenate that week.

Here we go:
- Crankey Old Man/Ranking Intel Officer contacted Navy HQ to find out that Cprl. Janet Adams is dead (thus far that hasn't told us anything aside from that Troy was evac'd before glassing, and that Apoc crashed).
- Key_lime and Candidate join Dr. Avi and CoM together. From there the story splits to Ronnie's story and CoM's discussion with a younger officer.
- Standish tells us that the Apoc's captain was hit by a bus, implying the possibly that it was an assassination.
- Melissa thinks Greene is the captain, and Melissa was AI when the ship found the artifact/Covie tech. Presumably, Greene was the one hit by the bus and (possibly) assassinated. I won't go there, but plenty of spec can come from this relating to Melissa, Durga, ILB, and on and on...
- Ronnie is joining the spy world now, and she is only tied to all of this skullduggery by Prof. Avi, who she has spec'd to be an ONI spook in the past.

On another note, Jan, Jersey and Ronnie all seem to be about the same age. None of them live with parents, all of them are young enough to just be starting in life. Jan is never said to currently be in high school (and if she is, why doesn't she live with her father?), she could be a recent graduate. Ronnie does say that she is a student multiple times, as does Prof. Avi. Khamal is an early years Med student. Ta dah.

I was thinking about the wavs on the recipe3 page and it seems that the Princess was responsible for those. But if that's true, why do they count on total axon count which is controlled by Melissa? Seems strange to me ...

Since you folks pointed out that she sounds exactly like Jan, but with an accent, and that Jan is super strong, Ronnie super smart...

Oh, one more point. Captain was not killed on the Apoc's crash, since she spoke to the older guy on the clips. So, whatever happened to the ship, was serious enough to damage the ship AI, but not enough to kill everybody aboard. Captain certainly was not hospitalized if she got hit by a bus.

Transcripts from thebruce's AxonPlot page.

I think it's SPEC that Jan doesn't live with her parents.

I believe this implies that Jan does live with J 2 .

Frank: Jan James, the local heart-breaker, my son's high-school.

I personally think it's reasonable to SPEC that Jan is in high school because she plays "high school goddess" and is the "local heart-breaker" at Dwayne's "high school." However, I think it's also reasonable SPEC (even though I don't personally believe this to be true) that Jan is recently out of high school.

And why did Melissa answer the phone for those axons?
