Your right, they should. They probably gave out more swag at CC than the number of people who originally sent in the puzzle/coupon right?

I wish I lived in San Diego Sad If I was walking down the street and I saw that truck drive by saying "rocket poppeteers" on the side of it I would freak the hell out. That would be so awesome.

Sad

She's either following the game, or knows the PMs.

That's the fish from the Rango movie teaser.

Very nice, thanks for the update. Congrats on the sweet swag! Did you notice if anyone was getting the same items without the letter? Perhaps we will soon hear from others who received the same items as well.

I know some uFers on the ground at SDCC but I don't think they are following this viral. I sent them a PM though giving them a heads up and an offer to send them a scan of my letter.

We shall see... Confused

So the people that most likely don't follow the Super 8 game except a few get cool swag and the people investing time into the game get a piece of paper with an astronaut name. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

BTW: I'm not angry, just giving a thought.

I got a printer finally so made a photo copy of the letter and on back answered the space challenge as:

Space Challenge
How many stars are on this page?

Background = 16
Space Challenge = 1
RP Logo = 22
Captain Coop's Flag Patch = 50
Rocket Flag Emblem = 50
Captain Coop himself! = 1
Total = 140

Real Spacemen Love Rocket Poppeteers!!!

name/address

and sent that in the mail.

I really debated whether to go with the actual letter or not. I wanted to since the CC twitter request said for those guys to show the real letter but if I sent that off and it doesn't go anywhere then I handed back my little Super8 swag, so decided on a copy instead since for the space challenge it gave no specifics on how they'd want an answer, let alone whether to answer or not.

We'll see what happens....if anything

I was thinking of sending a COPY of my letter back the same way. Breaking down all possible star counts. Kinda of how I sent my maze in, with both of the routes... What say you all???

They were handing out shirts and ice pops of the rocket. no one received the hat without the letter. I'm going try and meet them again tomorrow see if I missed a clue or report how many stars are in the page. they were super busy when I went up and said I had a letter. If you want I can take some pics of the items I got.

New Info Analysis
Moon spec-New links-Cooper Twins

Okay, so have had a detailed look at the new info. Attached are a few pics from the Twitter, mainly comparing logos and planets, but also Rocket as it's the first time we've had a detailed pic of it. These have been lovingly crafted!!

A few observations:

Regarding TWITTER picture:

    - New (larger) planetoid appears more similar to Tethys, but different to the RP letter (upper L corner). Are we being shown different moons?
    - The two smaller planetoids are identical - This could just be artistic laziness but merging them I reckon they are pretty similar to Titan (though I have been primed to see that).
-Playing with the contrast reveals nothing new; too many patterns in the stars to speculate
-Playing with the colour levels, there are several discrete bands. Looking at the extreme end reveals the shadows in the moon. Prob don't mean much, but thought they were interesting so are included.

Regarding Rocket Poppeteer Ice-Cream Truck:

    - Brain fleet: Braegen File (? Related to Braegen Automated Tape Library?)
    - Twin Teamwork Fleet:

This is new, twin never mentioned before, but Cooper and Conrad were known as the 'space twins' following Gemini V (1965). Found here:

      http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=70405

Regarding the Gemini V mission, it was the first mission to have an insignia patch (the patches got the generic name of "Cooper patch."). Cooper choose the image of a covered wagon due to the pioneering nature of the flight. The slogan "8 Days or Bust" was emblazoned across the wagon, but NASA managers objected to this, so a piece of nylon cloth was sewn over the slogan (see attached).

Going back to the intercut images, one of them does resemble a pod; but as with all of them it's impossible to be sure.

Following on with the Gemini theme, in 1965 Cooper and Conrad conducted Rocket Sled tests (tenuous I know, but trying to work in Red Sled clue) http://www.efootage.com/stock-footage/38910/AmericaAmericanUSUSUnitedStatesNASAProject
