SPEC: Sarah Wyatt

According to the story, the Willinghams "destroyed" much of Sarah's artwork when the renovated the "home out at the end of Old Dobbs Road" (also now the location of The Hollow Needle). Maybe the simply cut the artwork from the walls and stashed it. That would explain why Phyllis Willingham has so many pieces of Sarah's work.

The Wish

SPEC:
Is it possible that Sarah, like Dale, was visited by the Wish and maybe was another case of a wish gone wrong? Maybe she made a wish that resulted in Amelia's death.

My other thought is that maybe the children who wandered out of the Pine Barrens were children from another dimension, maybe children of the Ashram people who were sent back, and Sarah was trying to find her way back after the last thing she cared about in this world was gone.

????

Sarah's story and artwork is definitely connected to wither the wish or the interdimensional travel in some way. I guess we need more information to figure out how.

The first piece by Sarah Wyatt that is up for auction looks VERY similar to the piece on the Asylum's home page (that was created by 'a resident'). Is it possible that rather than disappearing per se, that she has somehow become admitted anonymously into the hospital?

aglaura library and Sarah Wyatts story

Hello

What good eyes you have Tommy! It has been hinted by Dr. Kendra through the great relationship that Barbarelly has cultivated with her that Sarah Wyatt did in fact do that picture but due to confidentiality concerns that is all she can say. you can find that at http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=820&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45&sid=00dd899cdbf2aba32efb3492756897b2.

I am really suspicious about poor Sarahs dissapearance. Who would have the most to gain by her death? Who has so much of her work? Twisted Evil

Maybe the children were exactly the opposite of that. Maybe they were born in the dimension in which they wandered out of the Barrens and could not "go back" with the Ashram.

Quote:
If you compare your old survey map with the very latest, you will note that our area lies perilously close to the region infamous in recent years, the South Jersey Nuclear Waste Dump near Fort Dix. The "accident" that occurred there has made the Barrens even more empty and unpopular, as any hard-core Pineys fled the pollution melting into the state's last untouched wilderness. The electrified fence shutting off the deadly zone runs less than a mile above our enclave.

The Accident occurred while we were in the first stages of developing the fourth-generation egg, the Gate. At the time we had no idea of its full potential. However all of us, except for the very youngest (who were evacuated), had by then been trained in elementary self-directed generation. A few tests proved that with care and effort we could resist at least the initial onslaught of radiation sickness. We decided to stick it out, at least until "the authorities" (rather than the dump) proved too hot to endure.

I think that the children who wandered out of the Pine Barrens with Sarah may be the children who were evacuated because of the radiation...

I found this a while back in Google. I didn't think anything of it at the time. May still be nothing but it claims to be an interview with two ashram children, now grown.

Pine barren Children

I was thinking that maybe these children are changelings or children that were replaced by changelings and taken to fairyland.

Come away, O human child!" call the fairies in a poem by William Butler Yeats inspired by Irish folktales of children abducted to fairyland. Yeats was a folklore enthusiast and a life-long believer in the fairy folk. His poem "The Stolen Child" is rooted in changeling tales found throughout the British Isles, as well as in other lands with fairy traditions of their own. Changeling stories are not "fairy tales" as the term is commonly used today

Changelings are Faerie souls which hide from the disbelief of the modern World of Darkness by wrapping themselves in mortal flesh. Hidden behind this mortal Seeming, the changeling is better able to withstand the effects of Banality. Even so, modern changelings are ever in danger of forgetting their true selves in the face of humanity's collective disbelief in all things magical.

This sounds an awful lot like Sarah Wyatt to me....

Some say changelings are the personification of Man's dream-archetypes made flesh, others believe them to be descended from creatures far older and stranger than mere mortals. Whatever their origins, modern changelings are creatures of passion and whimsy. They are more concerned with art and beauty, passion and adventure than the responsibilities of modern life. Even the stodgiest changeling is often viewed as eccentric, if not outright insane.
