"My 2 Cents" or "Over Zealous??"

It seems based on the turn out so far for this last axon effort seems a little slim. Althought that could be for a number of reasons, I ,as a Halo fan and new to the ARG community, have lost alot of my initial steam. I was there when my axon was contacted and had been folloing along since the near beinging. Im sure for you hardcore ARGers this game is like a treasure trove. Tons of puzzles, huge planning and interesting interaction, but could it be too much? Dropping what your doing and jumping through hoops the PMs set up is all in good fun..but Seven hundred times? Thus far the PM's plans seem to have been going over well but how long are they expecting people to keep a vested intrest. I still follow along, watch from a distance, and let other people do the leg work...one early morning standing by a phone was enough of the hands on experience for me. ( I salute all who have put forth the effort, there'd be no game without you. ) And maybe we are drawing near the end, maybe 777 will be the end. I was stoked for the end of the countdown, but after that I just lost alot of my intrest. The Puzzles and riddles required more effort and time than I had to devote, which leads me to belive im not alone in feeling this way and that maybe other 20 something's are as well. I gues my main point it that The PMS (Prob Bungie/Microsoft) put alot of effort into making this ARG work, but for who?... average halo fans, I really dont think so. If it wernt for the ARG devotees, very little would have been accomplished I think. Reguardless I'll be watching from the sidlines, curious how long this will go on, and what else our Masters will require of us...not that I'll obey. Wink

Not So Cynically Yours,

An interesting point you make... we've had threads complaining it wasn't hard enough, but not one that said it was too much. However I think one of the points you're making rings true with the "not hard enough" people... going out every week to answer a phone isn't challenging, and is logistically difficult to achieve if you have a job (and I'd say the majority of people I know who like Halo are early-to-mid-twenties working people). So, mentally trivial, logistically challenging. That's the wrong way round, perhaps.

The good thing about this is that you don't have to solve the riddles etc - what few there have been - because the answers are posted here for anyone to see. Certainly trying to do them by yourself might give you a glow of satisfaction but it's fairly redundant work Smile

Are you saying that keeping up with the story of the .wav clips is too hard? Or just that there isn't anything all that interesting going on at the moment?

Who knows, maybe things will look up when we get to 777/777. I think one of the problems with that target is it's not a specific date, so we're in a kind of limbo here, being unable to go out and answer phones, and unable to do anything else really. Earlier, we knew when things were going to change. Now... we have no idea.
