Medical resident implies he's further along. Post graduate.

Also , In one of the Fable .wavs, Kamal says that "he finished med school so how hard can cooking be?" When referring to the chicken he bought for him and Sophia for dinner.

And yet, Aiden comments that Kamal's graduation is still some years off.

Maybe he's in graduate school?
Or, to quote Ralph Waldo Emerson, "STOP QUOTING ME!! #$&(Y%@!" (heh, sorry...)

Yeah, I must imagine the old orator must be pretty ticked at me by now. I use the quote not because of any agreement with the content, but out of love for the irony of a quote-bashing quote.

Regarding the accent, it seems that Jan has moments where she breaks into different accents. Like in pqi and apartment_squirrels. I'm not saying that Jan is the recuit, just that I wouldn't put it past Jan to be able to change her speech patterns if she wanted to...maybe a southern accent is Jan's "real" accent. Maybe she ran away after her little act of vigilanteism. Just a little bit of spec...

Or maybe Ronnie and Jan are identical twins (one's a clone)?

And because a little spec about a new character as nifty as Ronnie just ain't complete without some baby name website trawling, I did find that Veronica tended to mean a few different things, but mostly tended to mean true/truth, victory, purity.
Other phrases associated with the name:
true face
true victory
honest image
idealistic
mystical
yielding
If the speculation that she is some sort of twin of Jan's (the voice similarity is the key piece of data a lot of us are using right now to substantiate this spec), then her name meaning might indicate that Jan is indeed perhaps a clone, or simply not as true or pure, since she's been 'tweaked up.'
Then again, Veronica may not be the full version of Ronnie's name, anyhow.

I think they were talking about Kamal's residency being finished as still a ways away.
When you finish med school, you do a residency, where you're technicly a doctor, but also still a student...
Didn't anybody here watch ER but me?

Hee! Well, unless we'd been specifically told that Jan was short for Janissary, we might've thought it was for Janet, which means:
God's gracious gift
... and nothing else. Janissary is quite a different, and very specific, meaning. So you know, in case it truly is Veronica, and not Veronissary, or Ro'a'ni'qua, or as someone else said, Ronalda, we've got some interesting meanings there, which, for the moment, tenuously tie into the twin theory, or a cloning theory.
We'll see!

One thing I'd like to point out: not only is Jan physically capable, but she's also smart as the dickens. She looked for and found the sniper and back-up before going after Jean (her_hair.wav), as well as fooling a lie detector test by some pretty clever evasions. It doesn't seem to me that we have enough evidence to say that Ronnie and she are two sides of the same coin; they're both just gifted in lots of ways, some of which we probably still don't know.
