[MISC] CFG Discussions, Rumblings and Various Info....
A place for CFG discussions that don't merit or already have their own topic.

Ok, I'm starting this topic to post and discuss any random stuff related to the game (IG communications, updates, FYI's, etc..) that we don't have a topic for already. Also so we don't have to keep using the "Trailhead" thread for this purpose as well.
This forum post actually has a little content as well, so I'll kick it off and set the tone for this board with the following...

I sent the following email back on June 3rd to "legal_blackwellbriggs.com" with hopes to provoke any sort of response. (I had no hidden codes or embedded ciphers, just sent exactly what you see below for once Wink );

Quote:
Fair Warning!
From: Friar Tilton <friartilton_ymail>
To: legal_blackwellbriggs.com

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Consider this fair warning; you have a mole within your hired help. Your video was leaked by a loose Jack. The hiring of these so called "jacks" was a dangerous proposition, especially for you. Your jackals are hacking into and reading this email, most likely before you do so this message is just as much for them as it is for YOU.

For a price we can provide the proof you require to eliminate your "internal competition".

Give this some thought, as it will be you who ultimately loses to these hired watchdogs....

Just today, I received the following response from "c.hansen@blackwellbriggs.com" (HTML -formatting retained- version attached);

Former Frand,

Really trying to stir the pot aren't we? Your little game is nearing it's conclusion, c.hansen is prepared to strike a deal now and I have NO issue giving you and your little "game" up in order to get what I want. Exactly what favors have you down for "us"? Do you know who "we" truly are anyhow? If you only knew....

Dear bitter ex,

Double double, toil and trouble.
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.

Do you know who gets Charlotte her coffee in the morning?

Love,

okay...so he's saying that your blackmail ploy is an empty threat because you can't use charlotte against him because they are sleeping together, and therefore her loyalties are with him OR she is in the know of his "nefarious" activities, right?

but how much does she KNOW? or rather, does she know ALL his, shall we say, dalliances?

blackmail is blackmail after all

perhaps you should counter with something along the lines of:

do you bring it to her in a cup as nice as this one?

Oh no, that's one of a kind as far as I am concerned. (Which isn't that far.) If you must know, it's more of a paper type deal, but that was pretty far from the point which remains thus;

Dear God in Heaven,
etc,
other expressions of exasperation,
when you are done with the posturing,
the hurt ego,
and the threatening of my ~precarious position~
(which is dumb)
(I mean)
(did or didn't I get you into emails)
(oh and the cameras)
(oh and I'm keeping your secrets?)
(what is this, an Aesop fable?)
(if you can't take some ~playful ribbing~ in exchange for data and support)
(without getting all butthurt)
(then)
(what good are you)
(so basically; I really hope you're wrong mister scorpion)
(for everyone's sake)
and want to talk
like adults
please
by all means
by any means
let me know
but
until then

SHUT UP

All I want is to conduct some mutually beneficial business, and your hostile behaviour isn't conductive to anything. Sad

So;
Put on the grown-up frock, or send me your best diplomat. I know it's hard. Trust me, I know. I have to hang out with me all day long.

What's strange is that he's even responding at all, there must be something we're able to do. Maybe get around to sending our "evidence" on Callum to c.hansen? I don't know but Jack sure is responding alot lately, if there's no reason for him too then it's really strange.

communication with spades:

Quote:
Dearest Liberator,

Some mistakenly figure that I'm "the best diplomat"; I hardly agree...Didn't I just burn an effigy in your honour and all that? Besides, I'm rather tired of playing "the tickle" to the Friar's "slap" routine to you.

I'm rather amused that a tiny reference to your gift to me has struck such a nerve. (So unlike you to be unnerved as well). Temper, temper. Are you worried your Charlotte would be sore on that point? Or are you just miffed over my particular participation in the Friar's blackmail scheme?

What were you expecting, Jack? For us to fawn all over ourselves over your "precious" return? And with you bringing us threats "to father", and all that?

Really, you are just like that horrible little brat who shakes the cage vigorously and then is surprised when the poor rattled mouse bites his finger. " What? Didn't I feed you? And give you fresh water?? And provide fresh newspaper clippings??" Oh, that poor dear mouse.

Instead of "extorting" us (simply for the reason you delight in these tiresome games), did it ever occur to you to bat those pretty eyes of yours and simply ask nicely?

Besides, didn't someone already offer to help you? Out of the goodness of his heart?

Or does your favour require an embodied presence at a specific location. I'm certain you are quite aware that I'm on my way to "your parts" within the hour but would rather sit this one out, if you don't mind. (cyngs holds a grudge. Is she being more than just a little bit petty? Yes, yes, she is.)

However, for old times sake, I can hook you up someone from our British Contingent.

But that's all you'll get from me, I'm afraid, old boy.

Unless, I am given a strong incentive to change my mind. However, I doubt you need depend on me anyhow.

cyngzor

P.S. I do so quite look forward to having this communication of mine ignored along with all the others.

Quote:

Good golly miss Molly,

Yes! I was very honoured, not to mention ~amused~. Thank you for your special attentions. Smile

You are absolutely precious, you know that right? I know I did say I do not owe you an explanation (OR INDEED ANYTHING MUCH AT ALL), but you have so moved my hardened heart.

First of all, sweetheart, I have to ask you, how long have you been on these internets? I have been here for some time, and I feel I should tell you that ... nothing here is really what it pretends to be. Did you know that the basest hacking tool in the world is called "social engineering"? People did that even before there were computers! I'm sorry, but I'm not going to fall for a game of online seduction. (And neither should you.) As the General would say it, IT'S A TARP. My dearest Deucy, for all I know you and "Friar Tilton" is the same person, and to wit; I don't particularly care. Anything I give you, I give you because I want and choose to; not because you cleverly manipulate my baser instincts and emotions.

Further; asking nicely isn't in my MO. Sad I'M BROKEN I KNOW, but there you go. (BESIDES who in their right mind would miss out on the opportunity to pull a Secret Agent move like that I ask you.)

Anyway!

Please do. Smile
I'm sure they are all very good people. OR HEY, I hear this little bird sing that they have a party tonight? Awesome.

Ok so we were at the party tonight listening to the first band (which was terrible btw, second band was better). Anyway, a random guy comes up to me and hands me a USB stick with SPADES on the sides. Yep so that was a surprise. Here is the contents of the stick:

more communication with the knave

Quote:
Well thank you ever so much, Jack, for schooling me on the ways of LIFE. Lessons lolled.

"Anything I give you, I give you because I want and choose to; not because you cleverly manipulate my baser instincts and emotions."

Oh Jack, for such a clever boy, you can be such a dullard. Do you really believe I think I'm all "that"?

I was rather enjoying our flirtation, and now you've rendered it in the most severest light. By the by, don't believe everything you hear and see on the internet, especially excuses given from a wife to her jealous husband. Sigh.

I'll be sure to use my tools of seduction on some poor sucker who will appreciate it from here on in and stop wasting my precious feminine wiles with you. I mean since you are just going to bestow me these gifts of mercy, why should i bother to keep putting in all this effort? I'll just sit back and let the flood tides pour in. (Like all the other dull wheels that you oil out of the "goodness" of your heart).

"for all I know you and "Friar Tilton" is the same person"

Orly? You don't give yourself far enough credit. I'm sure if you really wanted to you would know my anything at all about me: from my SIN number down to my bra size, and without really trying all that hard to find out. I'm not for a second fooled that you don't know.

"and to wit; I don't particularly care."

Well, that part I do buy.

Changing the subject: As for the British Contingent--aye, they are going...although, I couldn't get a firm commitment from any of them. But their handles are skudzy, techtaylor, trilson, prowler, and chambers (if you don't already know).

I recommend skudzy -- he is almost as hardcore as me and has the loveliest ginger hair, but they are all equally fine fellows.

your Moll

then after reading his communication to skudzy via the usb key, i wrote this in jest, i REALLY REALLY did not think he would respond in kind
Quote:
how bad do you want them? *say please-- pretty please with sugar on top

Oh, oh, pretty please with sugar on top, and an additional box of kittens. Cute ones. (Preview: :3)

Quote:
You are much finer than any of the people you mention. Sometimes I think they lack a certain pro-active streak, however I am not at all worried now that you are apparently here. So how do you like London? Hard on the lungs, easy on the eyes? I'd propose a meeting, but I have my health to think about. (It is after all so dear to me.)

Aaaannnd, I've had such fun too. Whatever happens; we'll always have Paris.

Unequivocally yours,
in heart if not in mind,
in thought if not in action,

i wouldnt take jack's praise of me at your expense, basically he's saying he's expecting you guys to contact him more directly and i say go for it
fire him off an email
as for our thoughts yesterday--sending jack forged copies is a grand idea, but i think i prefer to spend my time visiting the london sites, so unless anyone else feels like photoshopping their butts off, i think we should strike that idea off the list
that leaves giving jack a y or a n
take the bull by the horns and pick one *smiley face
don't wait for a consensus either, itll never happen

Just cause Cygns asked so politley.... here's what I sent jack

Quote:
My dearest Jack,

It appears we have some french swans in common that suggest that a diplomat is required. So I enter côté jardin, the question on the lips of all in the grand circle is whether this newest of characters is too late to play his part? Can he find a solution to a problem that first that Cat and then the Swans could not overcome? Is he here to help... to hinder... or merely to get his fax straight?
Do you too feel that this grand play has far too many animals involved and too few cards? I quite like the pip of your bike... but why have one bike when you can master 52? Why use one pip when they all serve a purpose?
You have set out a grand game; fax you some documents to avoid the wrath of your master. I wonder why one that seems to know so much can't seem to conjure up the information on his own? Perhaps the Jack is merely a joker? a broken man with father issues? (Should I be shining the bat sign from Bojo's roof tonight?)
I digress, Jack or Joker it is true you've served on occasion... In this game, how do we know you won't run to daddy and show him our hand and our favorite club?
I am a king of cards, but only a diplomat to men... help me allay the masses fears and prove that in Jack we should trust. I will ante up first, despite all the banter, I quite like this game. The swan knows me as Techtaylor... of the UK contingent... a joke I am happy to allow. I'm sure you see the funny side in that as well. We have 7 documents that I remember.
The game has begun... I am playing are you in Jack? Time to ante up.

King of Cards Wink

USB Found with Skudzy's Cipher Crack!

So Skudzy cracked the recent wall cipher and it led them to a location which yielded another USB drive. Cyngs sent me the info contained therein to post here on uF....

and the response from jack...

Quote:
Your Royal Highness,
(Is that a "maybe" I hear?)

As the arguably most loyal of your subjects, please allow me to state;
Oh all of my stars, you're actually clever! That cheers me up so much, you have no idea. That ...shouldn't be read as a dig on anyone, but ah-aha, if the shoe fits I guess.
So! Sir asks a lot of questions, I guess that makes sir the Riddler then, if we are being thematic. As for what I imagine as the more pressing of the questions here, how do you know I won't ~tell~ if you give up the goods. WELL. If trust is out of the question, guess you can't know, really. Sad
And alas, I am many things, but I am not the court magician. (I know some really neat tricks through.) But as I see it, you won't really lose anything by sharing, and hey. Special offer: deliver me ~something~ today, and I ...think I'll even see if I can't provide you with some /b/ackup, cause my kitty senses are tingling and I expect you're gonna need all the aids you can get.

Mew,

ideas?

Ok, we solved "JB Wainwright 100630 pt 1 .txt" a while back with vigenere..... "JB Wainwright 100630.txt" or ("JB Wainwright 100630.key" which was the raw format Cyngs sent) was the key....

It read;

Quote:
Dear Mr Kahn, leader for the Liberian Patriots of Freedom

I understand your concern about the wares, but I want to re-assure you that the AK47 still meets the high standards of today and stands tall next to both the M4 and the SCAR. A sudden change of weaponry would not only raise unnecessary questions about the origin of the wares, but would also be an unnecessary increase in price per unit, where to my knowledge resources are spreading a bit thin at the moment, and the usual orders would do the same job quite well.

One would assume that these files are the others that might have been found in the Santa Monica drop. Still no luck on the others?

I might join in the fun emailing Mr Spades. TechTaylor, did you send him anything then if he wants something today...?
