Bits

if that's the actual number of bits made then i'm sure someone would ask for alot before they parted with the bit.

Wow, if true I'm honored, because I have No Bit and it's easily my favorite piece of swag. Not sure how 42E went about picking their folks but I was registered with them and FL long before the mailings started. Either way, just happy to have one. It would be interesting to know an actual count of how may were made. I imagine it was more than 15-30...

I've only heard of one being offered on ebay since they first went out. Don't recall what it went for. I was lucky enough to trade for a Yes Bit a few months back and I will NEVER let it go.

Possibly last chance at cheap Tron arcade machine.

To all those who want a Tron arcade machine before the new movie comes out and the prices skyrocket, there is an arcade auction possibly coming to you town.

http://www.superauctions.com

Go early, before the auction starts they set up all the arcade machines and you can play them all before they start.

My brother and I haven't been since 2003 or so, that is when the market was the craziest. I imagine they will go low since the economy isn't the greatest.

We originally bought our first Tron machine for $200 and fixed it up. Sold it for $800 at the auction and went from there.

We have had the same one for the past 5 or 6 years now and are slowly but surely restoring it.

Even if you take $100-$200 you will still walk away with a cabinet or two.

We may not get a Tron this round but last time we went I could have gotten a Dodgeball 4 player for $80. Bang Head

There are a lot of fun games to play, if you walk around and bs people you will run into some of the most interesting people you could meet. One time we were bs-ing with a guy who turned out to be one of the main designers for Bally Midway and was even on the Tron game back in the day.

All,

I have been collecting things I can afford (except the "Vintage" Tron figurine). However, during this crazy Tron trade-o-rama tha's been goin on, I've landed a genuine XL Flynn's Arcade tee that hasn't been warn more than twice!

My issue I'm having, is that I'm a bit too small for the shirt. I was hoping to trade for a medium or large at least in the same condition.

Here is a Pic:

PM if interested. Thanks in advance! Razz

If they do you would be amazed what they go for. We had a 1990 Suburban and we could fit two machines in it.

If you have a friend with a pickup, you can get at least one machine in the bed.

The Neo Geo's always go for money because instead of giant motherboards like the rest of the arcades they run off of cartridges. Metal Slug is one of my favorite games and as long as you find the cartridges on ebay or somewhere you just plop them in the machines and go on your way.

A game like Strike force from the 90's will probably go for less than $200 depending on the condition of the cabinet.

Pac Mans, Star Wars, and classic ones definitely go for $400 and up. I would go, they usually have 2-3 auctions in every city every year. You'll at least be able to see what you are up against.

Encom Postcards Wanted

I was hoping to gather a set of the postcards from the initial mailing for a framing I'm working on.

I currently have Vice Squad and Astro Gunner

I need:
Arc Wars
Kraz-Bot
DCON 4- preferably w/ Flynn's Arcade sticker
Space Paranoids- preferably w/Flynn's Arcade sticker

I'm looking for postmarked and stamped postcards sent from Flynn Lives. Feel free to remove or deface your address label of course.

I'll gladly pay postage/envelope costs. If you'd like I'll also send back the same game title, one of the unsent cards from completing Circuit Cycles.
Condition of the front doesn't matter much, I know myself and others have some pretty banged up cards. I'm planning on framing the 6 new card fronts with the 6 postmarked card backs with CC in the middle.

If you can help out, please PM me.

Thanks,
Bill

As I understand it, you can still get FREE postcards by completing the Circuit Cycles challenge: http://encomgames.jp/circuitcycles/

Make sure you have a Flynn Lives account setup. Just login, complete the 32 levels of crazyness, and in a week or so, all of the cards will be yours!

Good Luck!
