helping others

wanting to assist as best I can from here in the UK - love the pirates - wondering if someone who's good at maps were to colour in the area in the perimeter bound by the walk?
wondering what shapes would be made if you created a mystic rose type of shape using all the points given?
wondering if there'd be a centre point calculatable by knowing the points - or if all the clue locations have something in location?

just thinking aloud...

Maddie Hayes- Do you think this could be talking about the presidents Madison & Hayes? There are a few things in and around the park that have to do with them.

I don't know what a mystic rose is but I was thinking that the path they are leading us on could possibly be making a picture of something that would be the final clue.....but you'd think that after a few videos the picture may be clear and someone would be able to finish it before the final video is released and they said they would be amazed if this happened....?

Here's something I think I might have picked up on: during the flashback at 3 minutes and 40 seconds there appears to be an ACTUAL underlying Morse code, right after the scream ends. It begins simultaneously with and quieter than Mulligan's voice, but I do think it's there -- particularly between 3:43 and 3:46.

I don't know how to take apart audio or anything like that. Do we have any "morris" code experts? lol

Welcome to all the new unfiction-ers! Smile

To the quoted post, there are a few morse code translators online you can try. I have been trying to listen to it and decipher it as well but have not had quite as much free time. I haven't been able to get anything intelligible yet.

There are also a number of online puzzle solving tools with links found right here on the main page of this site: http://www.unfiction.com/resource/otools/

Considering that the puppetmasters have in interviews stated their wish to remain anonymous, I think perhaps it might be only fair to them not to go digging too much into who they are. Especially as they've cited fear for their safety as their reasoning for not admitting publicly who they are. In light of that, you might want to edit some of that information, fellowtraveller.

Welcome aboard to all the new people, it's always nice to see new faces!

Love the little 48 armies solve on the chess too. Thumbs up. Smile[/sub]

Alright, I have removed the info, but I'm going to email them to let them know to remove the sockpuppet accounts that led me to them. Also, the info won't be entirely scrubbed until VelociraptorPancakes edits his/her post (quoting mine) as well.

I've been enjoying reading the thread and was gonna stay that way, but I couldn't resist straightening up one thing. THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT JAPANESE LANGUAGE. Whenever Tom speaks, I only hear burbling sounds trying to mimic what you hear in a samurai movie. I am Japanese native, so I am 100% positive. That explains the confusion between 5 (go) and 9 (ku/kyu) some of us had - yes, I heard 9, too

Thank you nyd! As I said, I have some hearing difficulty, so I really appreciate other people sharing their good ears.

To clarify, do you think the second number should be 6291 or 6251? Of course, I guess that is asking a Japanese speaker to tell if a non-Japanese speaker is slightly mispronouncing "go" or "kyu"...

Hm, I note that lamposts 6323 and 6251 were found, but not a 6229. Maybe the last digit should have been 5??? Probably not, that pronunciation seemed clear even to me. And I would guess that lamppost exists, since the numbers on either side were found (czg22's post).

I think the number is 6251. 9 can be pronounced in two ways [ku] or [kyu]. Tom pronounced 9 as [kyu] in '6229', so it's hard to think he would use the alternate sound [ku] in the same series of numbers.

It's possible that Tom's [go] sounded like [ku], but I don't think [kyu] can be any other number. So the numbers are highly likely 6323, 6251, 6229. I think we are on the right track.

Maybe Tom will read this post and come back with better accent. Let me know if you need a lesson, Tom. I wouldn't mind having some gold coins Wink

is it commmon?

Is it usual on these boards to post something and not have it appear? I'm kind of glad it didn't because it referred to and quoted fellowtraveler's post about the puppet makers before I'd seen that he'd removed the info. But still - where did my post go?

Hi all Smile
I've never been to Central Park so I was wondering if someone could help me out here.....if you were on foot what would be the path you would walk from the Skakespeare & Columbus statues to get to The Dairy? Is there a bridge or something that you would use to cross over Central Park Drive/East Drive? I'd like to know the shortest route you would take on foot??

There are two routes. The one on the west side, which was quicker in my opinion, had a small wooden bridge. The other side was more on the beaten path, though I don't recall how it crossed over Central Park Drive. I believe East Drive is ground level, so Central Park Drive is the only thing to cross over.

Here is a park map I photographed at The Dairy. It has better details of actual paths you can't see on Google maps.

Not sure how well this will come out, but the Columbus and Shakespeare statues are located where "TO SHEEP" is written on the top of the map.

The forum software here tends to force you to "preview" your posts instead of just posting immediately - usually when it detects that someone else has posted since you started writing, so you should check to make sure that hasn't happened before closing your browser tab.

Tutty Bear

Ok, now I'm getting into this.

According to a Facebook entry by the Captain, his stuffed animal's name is actually spelled Tutty I googled with that spelling and found a Tutty Bear, a stuffed bear with King Tut outfit. It was sold at the past Tutankhamun Exhibition, which is now, of course, in Times Square!

The New York exhibition's gift shop page has finger puppets but not Tutty Bears. Denver exhibition page does, though. I'm on the other side of the Hudson and not planning to go to Midtown anytime soon. Can someone check if it's sold there?

btw- I found this page on the FAO Schwarz website. Maybe the pirates were born here?
