That's why the spectogram is useless in this circumstance and either ear or wave form better. CNVEXP file was clearly not morse, this definitely is. Question is how is it significant? I suspect (or hope) time will tell....

I wouldn't say useless. In this case it shows just how many sources there are spitting out code at different frequencies (not just the loudest one that has been receiving the most attention) and you can easily see the dots and dashes for each. That said, I don't see anything immediately useful jumping out of this.

Yes a lot of stuff in there for sure! Maybe some using Russian morse?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Morse_code

But how to isolate? I have not the skills or equipment to do much with audio analysis.

Also it could just be gobbley-gook! Dunno

Hi everybody. My first post here but i've been reading through all the posts since the trailer.

I wonder why no one noticed that (i've read all 6 pages and searched for it)

On the "legacy screen" there is a spaceship passing by and it is obviously Vostok 1 - the Jurij Gagarins ship . Since the whole popeteers thing is so pro-american - why they used russian spaceship there ? or is it red cozmo?

This would be consistent with the Cold War/Space Race era of the early 60s, which is the decade the original STIES newspaper clips refer to in Kennedy's speech. Can't have a race without at least two competitors.

I don't know if Vostok is related directly to Red Cozmo, but I'd expect the character to figure in at some point.

Btw, did anyone else notice that the RP site seemed to load a (slightly) extra long time today, as if uploading new files?

I found nothing different other than the lights 'blinking on' outside the cockpit to illuminate Coop and the RP info painted on the metal wall. I don't recall the lights blinking on with that effect before today.

If that's new animation, that updated file would have to reload. Anyone find anything new on the site?

I've seen the "flashing" on that page since it opened on Monday night. I've been wondering why some of the words on that page are more faded than others.

"MY TEAM (faded: AND I ARE) ABOUT TO BLAST OFF......."

Probably nothing, but then again nothing is nothing until it's nothing.

Tip for screenshots, use ALT+PRTSCRN (on windows systems) to capture only the active window to the clipboard. Open Paint (or your favorite image editing software) and hit CTRL+V to paste it. Then use the selection box to mark what you want, use the "Crop" tool to crop to your selection, save it, add as attachment (on the far left side of the screen when you're creating your post)

The entire lower screen is static, so the radar isnt' of use. To be technical, It shows a much larger object in the "sweep" at 1'o'clock. Attached

I don't think there's anything in the 3 rocks, either. Attached. In fact, the upper rock is the same graphics as the first big single rock. Just smaller.

I spent some time with the spectrogram, and with the more prominent sequences that I could actually piece out. Based only on the image, here's what I came up with. Bear in mind this is not comprehensive in any way and I am certain I'm missing a lot, but these are the sequences I have so far:

8JA8
AA0ZP
NHRR NHRR
R0OD
0UAAJA
5VNRWB
WKBGPO
W6U (it then becomes unintelligible)

I'm wondering what is the significance (if there is any) of NHRR repeating so closely like that. Anyway - something to get you started.

how are you drawing letters from the audio? (I'm not an audio wiz, that's for sure)

The spectrogram posted upthread is a series of dots and dashes, which transpate into morse code, though a lot of them are kind of impossible to single out.

light patterns

Has anyone tried nailing down the flashing light patterns when the page first loads? Maybe we're supposed to press the green buttons in the same order that they flash in? Or maybe they mean something else?

Okay, maybe I was a tad presumptive. The spectogram does reveal a fair bit, but I'd veer on the side of too much to the point of cloud chasing. However, for want of something better to do, I've transposed every line possible. The following works from top to bottom, attached is some of the workings though near the end I got a tad slap dash with up-dating it:

And the transposition from line 1 (top) to line 18 (bottom) is:

Given this, I still think the salient code (if any) is either line 16 (i.e. Main waveform) OR maybe the numbers (8605184100695). I'm getting the inkling this is a tad too random Wink

When I listened carefully to the audio on the site several times, I realized there were quited a few code tone sequences overlapping. I would not have guessed it was as many as 18. I'm beginning to think its just random code, but its hard saying with a viral like this.

Something I've noticed from viewing the site on 2 very differently sized screens is that its made to fit the important parts in the 4:3 aspect ratio space of a 1024x768 screen. Everything interactive fits in that space on the control panesl of the rocket. When I originally viewed it on a 1920x1080 screen, I saw what I'm almost sure is the whole rocket worth of control panel graphics. The panorama out the window of the ship is also broader. I like that they kept the important stuff there for folks with smaller displays, but didn't just truncate it for the big screens.

Yes, the panorama aspect is cool... I never thought of expanding my browser that far to see it all. Though the cockpit panel does stop at the 1920px width — solid black sidebars after that. Still, cool aspect ratio design.

Props to the PMs!
