Elan Lee speaking at New York Games Conference

Just an FYI - I got an email about the annual New York Games conference. While scrolling through the list of speakers (btw i was shocked to see only one woman speaker, what is up with that!) I was delighted to see that Elan Lee of Fourth Wall media - and originator of the inquisitor role at ARGFest , part of the creative force behind the Beast, ilovebees, etc and an original founder of 42 entertainment, as well as the ARG community's great friend - is one of the speakers.

Here is a description of his panel:
Quote:

3:30PM-4:15PM PANEL 4
Transmedia Panel – Creating Compelling Storylines that work for Games, Film, Music, Print and TV Alike
Transmedia is the new buzz-word in the biz and it relates to unfolding of serial narratives on different platforms at the same time. Recent film and TV projects, such as Avatar, True Blood, and District 9, have all (with mixed success) relied on transmedia strategies to generate audience interest in previously unknown fictional universes, often combining promotional and expositional functions. This panel brings together visionaries and experts in the field of producing content for different mediums such as film and games, people who think deeply about our experiences of play, fun, and entertainment, to think about the future of entertainment as a concept. Topics that will be discussed include in what ways will the desire to produce and consume such experiences reconfigure the entertainment industry or conversely, how will the consolidation of media ownership generate or constrain new forms of popular culture, as for example by Disney buying of Marvel Comics? What models of media production, distribution, and consumption are implied by these future visions of entertainment?

Panelists:
Elan Lee, Chief Designer and Founder, Fourth Wall Studios
Jeff Gomez, President, Starlightrunner
Allen DeBevoise, Chairman & CEO, Machinima.com

Moderator:Ted Cohen, Managing Partner, TAG Strategic

Also, fyi, there is a link on the speakers page to submit a speaker -not just for this conference, but for several conferences which I think the company Digital Media Wire hosts. I can think of a number of people to submit, but I don't want to nominate someone without their knowing it - so I am just going to put the link here: they clearly need more ARG experts and more women in their roster Smile
