This is why I thought he installed the devices that Jimenez had that recorded the audio we have listened to the past few days. I think a security guy who is here illegally and wants to pick up some extra cash might be the perfect person to install some listening devices.

On one of the tapes, Jimenez clearly says he is going to email the screenshot so they can give it to the tech. So he would have the error code before he entered. I don't even know if the error code is important, except it sounds like binary and binary is worth investigating.

heh -after all these people contacting him, I would expect him to change his password or be alert to any attempt to hack his email. Smile

I hope he stays safely away in Hong Kong.

One more thing, if we need the name of the security company for some reason I don't understand, anyway, can't Dee get it from the lawyer who gave her the tapes? If he has the tapes he might know something more about how they were recorded.

So, could you hear that exactly? I'm not trying to sound nitpicky, it's just I was transcribing it and that happens to be one of the two bits from the audio files that I couldn't quite make out. I would be so unreasonably thrilled if you could type exactly what you heard for that couple of sentences so I could put it in the transcript accurately instead of what I put in there instead...which was like [what is happening here?!?!].

 		I thought that was what he said, maybe I imagined it. I thought he said he was at the computer and would send it, I have to listen again. Smile

I'm not sure what would be the point of mentioning the error code being some bunch of 1's and 0's unless it was to show that the system had been tampered with by someone, so it was showing an odd error message.

Maybe all we were supposed to get from him was a physical description of the killer??

Sometimes it just takes someone else's ears. It doesn't make any sense, but I've spent a lot of time transcribing things around a lot of people transcribing other things, and it seems like 9 times out of 10, if you make the person next to you listen to it, they can easily tell you what it was.

 		I listened again and he says something like I can get a screengrab for the technician so he can see it. Then he says to send Regis.

edit: I broke down and emailed him from an old account I had.. I don't know if he will answer me or not, I just wasn't able to call him. He might check his email if he is emailing other people?

 		We should ask of he knows if Santos had any family. There's got to be a reason that two Santos Jimenez in Florida died at the hands of Dexter and Infinity. That name wouldn't have been chosen if it didn't have a relation to Dexter's victim.

 		I agree that the names are no coincidence, but would Bisinha know anything? He says he didn't know Jimenez very well, he just worked on his alarm system. I'm not in e-mail contact with him, though, so I doubt my asking would wield any results. I'm just speculating in case that's all we're going to be hearing from him.

Hmm, maybe we should ask if he knows Jimenez's address, billing information, anything that would show some relation to the killed-before-him Santos Jimenez. He could have just used his identity to sell drugs.

 		@rose, The reason I was trying so hard to figure out the company name is because it was that security company's technician who received the error screen capture. Find the company, find the technician, find the message. But I guess that didn't pan out. I left the little bit of information we got from Bisinha on Dee's tip-line, so maybe that might move things forward. Otherwise, I don't know where to go from here. Unless we've gone as far as we're supposed to for now and Dee'll release more info next week? I wonder what that means we'll be getting tomorrow from F8 though.

@angel, no problem! Just wish it was more helpful. I think the two missing pieces from the audio may be:
From 1: "make sure the law stays off your back"
From 2: "I can take a screen grab for the technician so he can see himself."

She would be in trouble. I've been in games like that before, too, and what's even stranger is how much it twists your perception of the actual text when it comes down to it. Even with something like The Dark Knight--if the Joker told you to do something, you did it. As you said, if the Joker had said "Jump", I'd say "From which bridge?" That campaign wouldn't have been anywhere near as interesting if they had approached it from a different angle, like say helping Bats or Gotham PD. It was being one of the bad guys that made it so special. I mean that's sort of the point of ARGs right? To let yourself take on an alternate persona and do things you'd never do normally.

This game could be the perfect example of that if they let it. After all that whocontrolsyou business and us "giving control of our lives to fate", I would LOVE to have F8 charge us with nefarious deeds. "Hello, listeners. This Serial Huntress has been a very bad girl, I need some help finding her address..." Twisted Evil I mean, if a viral for a show about serial killers isn't the place for us to get our dark side on, then what is?

I agree with you on all counts. Even the phases of the game that involved working with the Citizens for Batman...something about it was just sad. I actually think that was kind of the point, especially once you discovered the BriDog/Atoz connection, but even in the movie, these guys are kind of hopeless, and you know it. Dee isn't so hopeless, but it really is a situation where if the Joker tells you to do one thing, and a Citizen for Batman tells you to do the opposite...you choose the Joker. He's more fun. His games are more complicated and thrilling.

In some ways I kind of think they're already doing it with this game, although I'm hoping that the divide becomes greater at some point in the future. What I would really love is to see a game where there's actually some kind of legit schism, one that requires you, essentially, to be committed to one side or the other side, as opposed to one that allows you to be on all sides even if you're biased more toward some than others. But anyway, that's just something I'd like to see sometime; I'm not sure it's necessarily practical because, at least in this case, I think Dee would just be totally deserted. But I do think that, inasmuch as almost all of the clues up until Regis Bisinha were actually given to us BY Infinity, they're already playing him in our favor. We like him because he gives us the information, and the real information, and he delivers it to us in a pretty package. I wouldn't actually be surprised to discover that Infinity actually anticipated some of our discoveries regarding Bisinha. The fact that Infinity is playing with the crowd at all is a lot; I think in some games, we might not get to see that side. We might just be hunting him. Instead we are getting the story from two distinct sources, and we are free to choose which one we prefer. It's pretty awesome, really. I can't wait to see how much that preference is played upon in the future, but I hope they do something with it.

Im a huge batman fan.And the dark knight was my first arg.Ive done many after.Dextrr is a fav of mine and like just posted before me I would love for the killer to do what joker did in that arg.I knew I liked you guys Smile

 		[META] Maybe having to choose sides in this game
compare to Dark Knight
hmmm - should we start a meta thread for this game? or start lobbying to promote it? or both? In the mean time, can we please at least tag the subject lines of META posts? When I have a chance, before the game is promoted, I can go back and edit the subjects if I need to do so.

anyway I don't enjoy having to play sides in a game. I would be very upset if people gave up Dee to a vicious serial murderer, but I think he can find her anyway, she isnt exactly invisible.

For me, although this is totally hypothetical, I would just stop playing. I did follow along/play the Dark Knight but for various reasons I was removed enough that I didn't choose a side or really do a mission. I heart my I believe in Harvey Dent T-shirt as well as my joker's gang mask. So I got around choosing a side there. I'm not sure how that game design worked but I think the citizens for batman group were supposed to be not as cool as the joker.

I get what you mean.Along with my citizens for batman swag from game I also got the symbol tatted on my arm Smile.I dont want to pick sides tho thats not really what I was saying tho.To me I dont trust Dee lol.But Im not really choosing one or the other in this one.Dunno what I would do if it was a option and dunno what I would want the option.

And the point of citizens for batman was to see people doing the wrong thing for something they believed in.But my opinion :)Ok sorry about me taking off with the batman stuff back to dexter:)
