That has me tinking along these lines (though I don't where exactly that puts me... Shocked ):

God-type = (maybe) Peter = Rock.
Therefore Rock + feller = Rockefeller? Confused

ooh i like that. very clever.

That's the problem, though, is that you can keep doing that with every little clue. I'll be at one place, and then super analyze it and end up somewhere else. The key is to stay on the trail. Trying.

Are there any dominant constellations in the sky when Tom takes off to blow up the sun?

seen the gold?

See any gold?

Another good point.

Geez...Why couldn't they pick a smaller city?? Rolling Eyes
Anyway, one more reference that could point to Rockefeller park is the "miracle" needed line. Isn't the top of Battery Park roughly where the "Miracle on the Hudson" jet finally ended up?

Rockefeller park is on the north end of Battery Park city but not really near battery park. Battery park city is very residential

Teddy does have deep NYC roots though. He was born in Gramercy and went to Columbia Law

Individual Video Themes

There seems to be a consensus that each video contains (or will contain) an overarching theme or clue. A clue that when put together with the other seven will reveal the ultimate destination.

The alternative is that this a fairly straight forward treasure map and that by the seventh or eighth video we will just go to the spot that the trail leads us and start digging.

Outside of the crows nest which has been mentioned in both of the first two videos have we noticed anything? All I can think right now is there were two sets of three letters so far. ELE in the first video and SSW in the second.

We never really came up with anything good (that I can remember) for ELE but south by southwest was a direct translation.

So, does ELESSW mean anything to anyone?

 Morse Code Help
Cannon and gun shots

So I need a little help from anyone (in NYC or not Wink ) who likes Morse Code. After Mulligan tries to tell the other ship that he is their friend there are cannons and gunshots heard. To my ear the cannons are dashes and the gunshots are dots. I deciphered the word "time" but can't really hear the rest clearly. The Time Warner building is right there and if you stand at the corner of Broadway at night, Time Square is obviously down the street. There's a store that sells watches at the Time Warner building but I doubt that's part of it because it seems we're looking for statues and historic landmarks. There's also a beautiful building (is it ConEd or GE?) with a clock at Madison Square Park which from above has been dubbed the octopus. Anyway, I feel like the more I listen to the gunshots the more confused I get so I would love a little help... Post up what you find to everyone. Thanks!

I tried that too. I want to spell out "TIMES" but it doesn't sound like there's an extra gunshot after the first cannon in order to spell that out.

That's been bothering me too... I can't imagine they only meant the teaser videos. It may not be vital to the hunt, but I think there have definitely been (or are going to be) gold coins hidden in the videos! Smile

On the home page of the site looks like there is an octopus and it says "Try ta avoid"

Maybe were not supposed to look for clues anywhere other than the videos though

X marks the spot

I know it's early, but I got a strong hunch from the first video where the money might be found. I believe future clues will revolve around the "fifth" character in the script: the parrot. The four pirates may have forgotten but I believe the parrot is the smartest muppet of them all. Look for clues regarding Brooklyn, monkeys, a train ride, and references to George Washington.

I'm going out tomorrow but I don't think I'll need a shovel. Actually, where I'm going, if I bring a shovel, I might get arrested! However, to pass the time waiting for sunset I may my old friend Sam who is sleeping nearby...

I agree with Enaxor about the sign language. We haven't done any interpreting of the repeated words, screams, shots or the who Tom montage with the arm cutting and then the 1 2 3 4 japanese montage.

edit: sorry I missed the above discussion of TIME as a possible solve for the gunshots and cannon fire. One more point, there is a Borders' book store in the Time Warner Center - as in repelling boarders.

I think the pee reference could just mean the rest room that is near that corner of the park, but it could be part of another puzzle as well.

I think these videos have different levels - one that is easy enough and entertaining enough to follow along on the ground and another that is much more subtle.

Sadly for me, I'm only good at deciphering the more surface level puzzle. Still, even that is fun!
