[wild-spec] the SP, the Queen, the Castaway -> questions?

okay,

In trying to tie some of these together, I recalled a few things that aren't jiving for me....

If the SP is a SPARTAN (possibly Kamal's sister), why doesn't the Operator want her awake? I remember that in Halo, Cortana inhabits the MC's armour, and comments that the armour systems are very close to the ships systems. Wouldn't either the Spider, or the Operator herself want to get the Operator into this system?

This leads to another [spec]. Could the SP be the Castaway? I.E., they picked up this "grey cylinder" afloat in space. Like a cryotube that's been ejected?

And for what this is worth [spec]: Guilty Spark makes an off-hand comment about the Flood being intelligent. Could the Pious Flea be a computer virus designed by them, and not by the Covenant?

Treat all this for what it really is......the rantings of an old fart.

Even if we assume SP is a SPARTAN (a spec with which I strongly disagree,) that doesn't mean she is currently possessed of MJOLNIR armor. In fact, we're pretty sure she's an AI at the moment, so the armor certainly would not have been included in the brain scan.

SP = female. Castaway = male. Thank you for that mental image. Bang Head

Intelligence is one thing. Limbs are another. The Flood, in their natural form, don't have the dextrous hands with opposable thumbs that would be required for technology anywhere near computer systems, and from what I hear the Flood-controlled humans and Covies aren't the most dextrous fellows either. Can you see any of them typing up some programming code?

Okay:

Forgot about the coversation shown that shows the Castaway as male. Embarassed

Of the SP and the Flea being Flood designed: I recall in Halo that one of your missions is getting "his neural implant" to get the codes for the POA before the Flood got them. [spec] then follows that the Flood did manage to 'infect' a human with such implants and use them to create the Flea? It also fits with the SP being a SPARTAN with armour. The armour is how SP is spying on the Queen, and because SP is "meat-ware", it's why the Flea cannot interface (the 'grope' commands fail outright).

I dunno.....the logic seems to fit to me.

P.S. "his neural implant" refers to the Captain's; of which the MC rips from his mutated skull. Recall that the Captain didn't look like any other Flood mutation that you had encountered so far, and seemed to be interfaced with the Covenant ship at that point.

Laughing Double entendre aside, I had never made the connection before between the SP's casket and the All-Important Artifact (henceforth to be referred to as the Box Labeled "Hamdingers"). Inkeeping with our inferrence of the "castle" as an abstract concept, and the SP as a computer program... perhaps the BLH is the casket in question, and how the SP manages to get onto the Apocalypso and then onto I Love Bees.

Artifact: Known Details

No, the details on the cylinder are pretty much against human-sized cryotube.

A squat cylinder, about the size of a suitcase[1] or a tire[2]. "Squat" kind of indicates it's tire shaped as well.

Osmium alloy[3]. Has "warning label" in unknown script [4] and what may be an access panel.

Burgundy officer speculates it was behind the system-wide disruption of comm channels (civilian AND military c-and-c).

More on the next episode of Artifact Hunter.

[1] Shipboard conversations Phase 3
[2] artifact.wav group. I assume car-tire, not mining-tractor-tire
[3] brittle dense member of Platinum family, would need alloy to be non-brittle
[4] suspected Forerunner

yeah, I re-read/listened to all the info on the Artifact.

I still think I'm on to something about the Flea possibly being Flood-created, and the SP being a SPARTAN. One of the sections from the Operator monologues has her refer to the Spider as the Widow (and I'm assuming that's a 'black widow' inference). At this moment, I don't remember who told The Story. If it was the Operator, then maybe the names are more than just a reference in a story, maybe they are more descriptive than that.

again, all [spec] on my part......

No, I meant a device containing the Sleeping Princess, the computer program.

This was touched on in this now ancient thread and also postulated here among other places.
