Josh Minker is Rocket Poppeteers?

Has anyone thought about the possibility that Josh's day job may be working for Rocket Poppeteers? We all assume he works at a paper company.

However, the post where he states hes getting an allergy to paper products: Perhaps its because he's the one hand writing the names on all the letters we sent in? Or at least the one packaging them maybe?

Also, in the weeks leading up to Comic-Con, Josh states that work is about to get very busy. After CC was winding down he says he had a very productive week. He also made the curious statement about his "real job". Perhaps its a hint at the RP tagline "Real Spacemen Love RP". Now that the RP Marketing Buzz has slowed down a little, perhaps Josh is finally getting time to spend time on his fish blog again.

This could mean that the RP Printout we received from STIES was Josh's way of communicating with Mr.Mystery in a safe way.

I searched for a Josh & RP connection and couldn't find anything. If I missed something please trout this topic. If not, then please add or debunk this speculation of mine Smile

Interesting idea, except that all information presented so far puts Josh in West Virginia whilst Rocket Poppeteers operates out of Minot, North Dakota. No small commute that.

Much as the various elements of Cloverfield didn't have strong, direct connections to start with, I don't think this will either. Slusho's ties to Tagruato were not directly known to the characters, nor does it seem they were ever aware of the importance of Tagruato to the appearance of the monster in NYC. I suspect Josh knows nothing special about Rocket Poppeteers at this point, and may never realize there's any special connection.

As Slusho was to Cloverfield, could Rocket Poppeteers be the same to Super 8?
Is RP a front for the aliens (Real Spacemen)? Do the actual pops contain some kind of secret ingredient that when eaten transforms humans into obedient recruit zombies?

So many questions and no answers yet..
I still cant figure out why the newspaper printout with the secret message and the RP ad was even disclosed so early on.. and who is behind that?

Theory? Josh's dad working the case in the 70's left his case files in the old computer which Josh has hooked up and is finding these clues that mean nothing to him, or us but were important enough to store in the computer.. and this rscom8 clue is one piece of evidence that was a paper that has RP in it to link them to whoever was being forced underground?

I guess we'll see how overactive our imaginations have been when we get a clue..

Maybe the RP ad and the newspaper pages it came with was one of the papers that Josh was trying to authenticate on that first site?

First Time Post,
I agree with Melodyman as it does seem to be right. Robert "Rob" Hawkins is the inspiration for Josh Minker in my mind. Very Happy

Mmmmmmm..... Iceilisious... I think ETs couldn;t get enough of RP, hence why "real spacemen love them" - something about those frozen e-numbers and non-carbon based metabolism!!

Josh's job

From the HLM website. Blog Post July 28th
Quote:
I really do appreciate your questions but bills, unfortunately, have to come first right now.

This for some reason jumps out at me. We all assume he means HIS bills. Rent/mortgage. Utilities. Car. Etc.

But could he be talking about bills as in his job relates to bills? First thought was accounting. I looked online to see if there were any significant tax days around when he started getting busy but saw nothing.

Another thought I had was a type of government job. Bills could be laws that need to be passed? Kind of a long shot if you ask me.

I am going to lean towards some type of accounting job. And I am going out on a limb its an accounting job for a local universityor college. Why? Well, now is the time schools are ramping up for the new school year. Items need to be purchased. Bills/tuitions need to be paid. I would think this would be a very hectic time at any school.

Another reason I think its a college is the library. What a great and convenient job it would be to have a library so close to study and learn more about the Coelacanth!

I know its a stretch and just speculation but I just feel it in my gut!
