Adding the two quick flashes in the video in case they are of any importance.

Thanks Toasty! I was trying to get the captures but you are quick on the draw!
I've seen both of those before but I can't remember where.
Also sent another email with some questions that came to mind.
Will the death be brutal?
Will the brother see it coming?
Is the brother actions responsible for his own death?
Will there be a book involved in the death?
We'll see what happens! LOL

Ended up having to scram after my last post last night so unfortunately couldn't get the responses until just now. Again it was a fast response but just ill timed on my part.
But there was some really good information that came out of it!
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Will the death be brutal? YES BUT NOT THE MOST BRUTAL YOU WILL SEE
Will the brother see it coming? NOT WHEN IT LUNGES FROM BEHIND
Is the brother actions responsible for his own death? ONE COULD SAY HIS DEATH IS JUSTIFIED BY HIS ACTIONS
Will there be a book involved in the death? WORDS WONT KILL HIM BUT A MAD ARAB'S WORDS MIGHT
The Mad Arab is of course Abdul Alhazred the author of the Necronomicon.
So I'm kinda thinking it means that Steve will be the one to die.
Not sure what other things to ask at this moment. Suggestions as always are very welcome!

Q: Is there a way to change the direction of destiny from its chosen path?

Think next email should have a number of questions in it.
So we know we can choose to save one of the brothers if we decide to. But need to figure out where and when.
So here what we need to know the problem is phrasing them correctly LOL.
1) Where is the brother going to die?
2) When is the brother going to die?
3) Will it be Steve
I was thinking maybe asking if one brother will cause the death of the other but he already implied the actions of the dead brother could cause his own death.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
What we know so far is that the death will be in a very spacious place, and will be brutal but not overly brutal, it will be a surprise and the Mad Arab's words may cause the death.

Ok so just sent a bunch of questions. Still would love more input
Will the brothers be together when the one dies?
Will the death be before the next full moon?
Can Steve be saved?
Will insanity follow those who do not turn back?
Will the Great Old One walk regardless of our actions?
Will one brother cause the other's death?
Will the death be near Walter Gilman's Alma-mater?

Well I got my replies. One made me laugh quite a bit!
Will the death be before the next full moon?WE ARE NOT DEALING WITH WEREWOLVES HERE
Can Steve be saved? SO YOU NOW KNOW WHO IT IS. YOU CAN ONLY STOP HIS ACTIONS THAT TRIGGER HIS DEATH
Will insanity follow those who do not turn back? THOSE WHO TURN THEIR BACKS SHALL SUFFER DEATH THOSE WHO DONT WILL STARE INTO HIS FACE AND BECOME INSANE. AFTER ALL THERE IS THE OTHER BEING.
Will the Great Old One walk regardless of our actions? OH BUT IT ISN'T A GREAT OLD ONE IT IS AN OUTER GOD
Will one brother cause the other's death? BOB HAS ALREADY MADE THE MISTAKE OF LEAVING
Will the death be near Walter Gilman's Alma-mater? YES WE ARE TALKING OF THE ARKHAM CHAPTER OF THE DUNWICH SCHOLAR SOCIETY
So my attempt to discover time got a humorous response to say the least. But we have the place narrowed down a little more we know it will be in the Arkham area.
I'm stumped on what else I can ask to narrow down time.

Starting to feel like I'm the only one playing this one LOL
Anyways got a new email from Steve telling me about an update on the website. Looks like Notyig has been busy.
I decided to tell Steve that I had been talking to Notyig and the information about his death.

Bob Jenkins I got an email from Bob that goes:
Quote:
Are you interested in helping me with my brother Steve? I believe he is involved in something horrible in Arkham.

YAY Angelus! Felt kinda awkward doing this alone LOL
Well Steve accused me of a being a traitor LOL So felt I had to set him straight
Quote:
I am hardly a traitor. A traitor revels information to an unnamed source. A researcher acquires information from various sources. Was it not my knowledge of the arcane that first prompted you to offer me a spot within the Society? What kind of researcher would I be if I was willing to allow knowledge, regardless of source, to slip away?
He said that you or your brother would die unless someone stepped in. I was curious what he thought he knew so asked a few questions. He basically said you would be the one who dies. Is it not for the best to know what others may see as the truth when facing the unknown?
ETA:
Got a response "Look at the picture. He mocks me. He knows what it is. Has he detailed the cause? I'm almost sure it will be that creature."
I gave him a run down of the information from the questions.

Ok I'm suffering from a major case of missing the forest for the trees. Thankfully the PM is forgiving!
I had a bit more of a conversation with Steve.
Quote:
Steve: HA! He thinks that Yog-Sothoth would kill me? He is truly a fool. Have you gotten anything from his recent hijacking?
Me: Nothing yet. I know the painting however, but I can't place from where. Other then that, he seems to reference needing muscle more than brains. Or that there is a point being missed. I admit sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees.
Steve: What is the name of the creature? Can you do some kind of reverse image search?
I admit by now I had not even considered a reverse image search. I think I'm getting slow in my oldish age LOL So I took his advice and checked out the image in TinEye. It's the second image from the video by the way.
I've discovered a few things, the most important being some days I'm off my game. The painting is by Beksinski and I have found one reference to it being called The Silent One. The only reference I have found with a name.

Yeah I knew the artist but had not found a name. Haven't found the original source for the image yet.

I'm starting to wonder if it's really it's name. I only found one page that had it called that, and it could have been someone else just naming it that. All the official references just say Beksinski 1976 which was the year it was painted.
I'm thinking the that it may have been used in a Lovecraft book but all mine are boxed up right now and I have no access to them. :/

Best I could do was pin it down to '73, at least according to the source below. As far as I can tell none of his work, from this period at least, was named. So you're probably right that it was used as cover art or something, but tracking that down... http://beksinski.dmochowskigallery.net/galeria_obrazy.php?artist=52
Ummm from wiki: "Beksiński was adamant that even he did not know the meaning of his artworks and was uninterested in possible interpretations; in keeping with this, he refused to provide titles for any of his drawings or paintings."
so yeah. Who was publishing Lovecraft in the '70s?
Here's a better image though.
