Steg help please

What is the easiest way to analyze whether an image has stegged data? I have nine images, 7 appear to be identical, 2 have different file sizes but smaller. A section of the bottom of the image has been removed. Also, if there is a password, I do not know what it is. Finally, I have three options of OS, ubuntu, windows 7 or xp as being run in windows 7 XP mode. I have tried outguess in both linux form (can't seem to figure that out, just get messages like Extracted datalen is too long: 42899 > 7587)
and also tried it in Win 7 but on half the images it just shuts down the program (using the xsteg gui).

Clue was: one of these things is not like the other, but I have no idea if that even refers to the images.

Thanks for anyone who can help me step by step here. I have searched and do see camouflage listed so I am going to try that but just not sure how to proceed when I am uncertain if there is stegged data and no knowledge of a password. Could be a dead end anyway.[/quote]

Outguess is usually about the first place to start, but isn't always a dead giveaway as to whether an image is truly stegged. If it's stegged with Camouflage, you can look at the file in a hex editor and see that extra information has been added to the file. It may simply be visually stegged too, dark text on black text for example. Comparing images in Photoshop or another image editor is a good way to see that. Worst case, post them here and we can all have a look.
