I feel I may already know where the gold is.... for reasons well outside of the already provided clues...

Can we also call for a 'Put up or shut up' rule?

I don't seem to see anywhere in this thread that Black Tom points to the backwards cannon (that falls into the water) and says "Clue!" in Japanese.

Doesn't he say "itoguchi"?

Cap'n Slim Jim

It doesn't sound like "itoguchi" at all too me.
Maybe I'm too native to understand Tom's accent.

Good points all. If it turns out to be relevant, the reason I went with 22 and not 4, and 12 instead of 3 is that he uses all 5 fingers, so if he wanted to indicate 4 or 3, I decided to choose that he would use one hand for those. But time will tell (like 6 weeks?). Maybe there was only the one set of letters, if that is even a relevant clue. Confused

At least all this "looking for more stuff" fills the time between clues for those of us not as able to "walk the route" literally. Smile

Peeling the onion....This weekend I am thinking about creating a list of all the actual, assumed, and potential clues. I figure it might come in handy eventually. Also, helps pass the time till the next one, indeed.

Not for nothing, treasure potential aside this movies are rather enjoyable. When the Captain enters the cabin to find all hell breaking loose I can't help to giggle at the ridiculousness of the scene....

GPS and number codes
identifying a location by numbers

I don't know what, if any, numbers code is being used with hand signals, if any.

But let me brainstorm a possibility.

If I were making up the clues, perhaps Tutty would refer to tutti which means all voices. That is, one would gather up the signals being sent by all of the puppets. Maybe Mulligan is just more conspicuous but the Captain, too, seems just as often to be doing something deliberate.

GPS is a common location identifer using numbers.

For elegance, I would have them all signalling the location of the pieces of 8.

The Captain seems to make a point of drawing our attention to EIGHT.

In one format, a GPS number is 8 digits.

And looking at both hands, I would look for 8 times when numbers are flashed.

Then perhaps they don't give the second coordinate until the last video.

Very excited for the new video today....hope it's earlier than 9pm today.
I noticed they added to the FAQ page on the main site to add....
Quote:
Do I have to watch all eight episodes to find the treasure? I think I already know where it is!
You really need to watch all eight episodes to know where the treasure chest is. It is VERY unlikely someone would find it without watching each of the eight episodes.

Another thing (I'm sure it's just them being silly and not a clue) I noticed was the octopus (or hexapus or whatever it is) in the corners of the pages eyeballs change when you go from one page to another Smile

I think I'm going to make that make sense somehow...

But it's funny, the one in the lower left corner Doesn't change. They all look the opposite direction when they change. The one in the higher right corner hides behind the website link.

I think if we don't get this week's episode soon, you two are going to go stir-crazy. Laughing

I'm not already?

Its up. And it's Larry King.

Also, someone's going to have to probably transcribe the scroll bar at the bottom.

(would be willing if no one else has it)

edit: mind the gap. they're on a train

edit2: and a secondary site. we're going to have a lot to go through.
subedit: the secondary site says it has zero clues. it is still funny to watch.

e3: the scroll has nothing to do with it. its directions to the mall from the romeo movies and the puppetmasters deliberately fucking with everyone.

i love this video.

if you watch the old glove and boot youtube channel (which was established in 07, leading me to think those characters are the puppetmasters other projects), theres an ad for Swift Laundry. It gives a website and a phone number. The website doesn't exist. Havent called yet.

Also, my preliminary thoughts on this video:

firefly ?
1 and 2: the 1 and 2 @ columbus circle
mind the gap (obv)
lawrence - R stop in Brooklyn
cortland - R stop downtown
tom says something?
look for mario in the preview clip
blue hat ?
hat on fire ?
crows nest
how'd i get up here (blue background over red/orange and yellow). as of now and as of the time these videos were created, the subway system is different. the M, which is orange now, was brown then. the W, a yellow line, no longer exists, nor does the V, an orange train. in my opinion, they are representing red, blue, and orange, or the 1,2, A, B, C, D trains, which all stop at columbus circle. the blue "is this some sort of a clue" above the rest of them leads me to think they are on a A or C headed uptown.

jared - subway

this entire video is probably subway directions

how'd i get up here (blue background over red/orange and yellow) - times square or queens - either the ACE/NR/123 at Times Square if its Red or the wait. wait. as of now and as of the time these videos were created, the subway system is different. the M, which is orange now, was brown then. the W, a yellow line, no longer exists, nor does the V, an orange train.

ill check maps from before the switch (which occurred this summer) to see if there are any other locations.

jared - subway

oh okay but its probably gonna take alitle while to desipher cause there may be some other clues also that dont stand out as much like in the other videos
