I found the original image, exact same resolution, file size and pixels, so I'd say nothing hidden in the image.

I'm thinking that perhaps it was used in a Chaosium Call of Cthulhu RPG book. Does anyone have access to one?

I do think perhaps it's a reference to Nyarlathotep only because he's called the Crawling Chaos. But he's not supposed to look like that.

I've been racking my brain on this and I am at a total brick wall with what I can do right now.

I was thinking it is prolly Chaosium as well. That seems to be the world we're dealing with. I found a copy of the Malleus Montrorum online and went through that. No luck. Since Nyarlathotep has 999 avatars I suppose that could be right. May be time to throw out a guess and see what happens...

Alright another attempt to think of something. I was checking the source again hoping maybe there was something where the image was that I could possibly figure out what we are supposed to get out of this... and I found something.

In that, "ALT specifies text that should be displayed if the picture is not displayed." Since it's all CAPS, that makes it NOTYIG (which we knew...).

It's difficult to make my browser do that, though. Even when I turn off images, clear cache, have no Java going and reload the page I STILL get the images. Must be a WordPress thing? Anywho, that makes 'THE RAKE' the title, I think.

The filename 1240545304007.jpg points to the same picture uploaded to 4chan /x/ early last year, and along with other, er, verbal and pictoral detritus you would expect from /x/, the second picture from the video, both labelled as The Rake - which along with the ALT tag, ties in with Not's cryptic email message about leaves.

So I checked 4chan's posting about The Rake (OMG will never go there again!) But I did find both of the pictures in the video mentioned as images inspired by someone who saw The Rake. So further indication we are on the right track.
