Location: Somewhere in NYC

I guess if the main clue is the background colors then
blue orange orange and yellow respresent
E F M R

which come together at jackson heights and roosevelt av or forest hills/71st av

and the throwing star roughly confirms this location against the lighted field behind the larry king

"Mind The Gap"
common sign in NYC subway system

My friend from NYC advises me that "mind the gap" is a common sign in the subway system.

Cool! So "Mr. L" after "Willow" Lagos=Lake: Willow Lake.
Uhm...
okay...

Actually, maybe Willow Lake itself is a better choice than a nearby playground. It is part of Flushing Meadows Corona Park, where the Unisphere globe is located.

I'll go there tonight and start looking for messages in bottles, hehe.

That's what I think also. Willow Lake comes from the ticker, so I am not sure if it goes with the subway clues, or maybe even against them (i.e a distraction?). And is "break my heart" qualifying or negating?

Dang...where's the rum!?

I can see the logic in going from park to park though.

This might jive with everything else that's been pointing us towards Queens.

Dangit, I don't want to go to Queens to investigate.

Hang in there, we aren't halfway there yet. By Sunday we may be on our way to Brooklyn.

haha I thought the same thing. This is what I found interesting just now:

putting aside HOW we get there...there is only ONE blue box, two oranges and two yellows. In queens, only ONLY blue train (E), two oranges (F, V) and three yellows (N,W, R) travel in. HOWEVER, someone mentioned that Tom leaves his yellow box leaving really only one yellow one. Interestingly, only ONE yellow train (R) can go the same route as the E, the F, and V. The NWR line forks at some point with the N/W line breaking left (going up behind Larry) and the R going to the right. So Tom has to get into the right one (Crother's box) if he wants to get to where they are all going.

If we actually want to go to Forest Hills (Willow Lake blah blah), only the E (blue), F (orange) and R (yellow) can get you there. Maybe Tom ends in the blue box because you would start off with the D train at Columbus circle and end up on the E (transferring at 7th ave) to get to Forest Hills.

Now that sounds kinda awesome BUT... I think I'm going to wait for Ep. 4.

I like the idea that jumping into another box = changing trains.

I think that the Queens area southeast of LGA is looking like the area we need to be in.

Which works out since the ticker mentions advances are still coming from northwest and transferring to the E at 7th ave would put us southeast of columbus circle. right?

that is how the trains travel through columbus circle.

many of the folks on here are referring to an old subway map. The map was updated in june this year.

here is a link
http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/submap.htm

though because of the shading used by the video makers i think they are also using an old map.
park on old maps were green, on new maps they are brown.
the area indicating flushing meadows park is green behind the larry king

Here is my simplified solution to the third episode. The first thing I did was to discard the caption titles. Treating them as direct clues to subway lines created too many problems and I don't believe that the puppetmasters really mean for the game to be this difficult yet. So instead I have just focused on the colors of the backgrounds in the video feeds shown, which is the only thing that was explicitly referred to as a clue in the episode, as well as the infographic showing the list of "questions" which the public is seeking answers to.

Anyway, to begin with we know that are meant to start out from Columbus Circle.

Let's assume that the next destination is indicated by the colors and arrangement of the boxes showing the video feeds on THE LARRY KING show.

The first arrangement is Orange, Orange, and Yellow, from left to right. Assuming this means that the next station we will stop at will feature at least two orange lines and one yellow line, the first station to qualify (if starting out from Columbus Circle) is 34th Street / Herald Square, where you can connect to the B, D, F, M, N, Q, and R trains.

If you look at the subway map, you can see that 34th Street / Herald Square is also the first point where orange lines converge with yellow lines.

The next arrangement of feeds is Orange, Orange, Yellow, and Blue with Blue on the bottom. Assuming that we are departing from 34th Street / Herald Square, the only stations to qualify are Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue and Forest Hills-71 Avenue.

If you look at the subway map again you can see that in the vicinity of the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue and Forest Hills-71 Avenue stations there are two orange lines and a yellow line ABOVE a blue line.

The final arrangement of feeds is Blue, Orange, Orange, Yellow, and Yellow, with Blue on top. Looking at the subway map a final time, you can see that the only place where a blue line runs ABOVE two orange lines and two yellow lines is in Brooklyn, near the Atlantic Avenue area.

The only stations where two orange lines and two yellow lines are present together in that area where a blue line runs above it, are:

1. Atlantic Avenue

2. 36 Street / 4 Avenue

3. 4 Avenue / 9 Street

4. Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue

Of these stations, 36 Street / 4 Avenue only qualifies because of the M, which recently changed colors and services. That tends to disqualify that station in my mind. Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue seems too far from the blue lines to match either. This leaves us with Atlantic Avenue and 4 Avenue / 9 Street as potential destinations.

The infographic contains at least two significant clues:

4. There are 4 in the crew. He's seen 4 docks.

5. There are 5 docks at the Port of Cortland.

(But you can't see all them docks at the same time.)

Thus, another reason to rule out Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue is that there are only four train lines that run there and therefore, there is no fifth "dock." 4 Avenue / 9 Street has five lines, but split between two platforms so that only three lines can be seen at most at a single time. By contrast, the trains at Atlantic Avenue are split between three platforms so that the most trains you can see at a single time are four.

To sum up:
1. From Columbus Circle, take the B or D train to 34th Street / Herald Square.

2. Then take the F, M, or R train to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue or Forest Hills-71 Avenue.

3. Finally, take the M or R train to Atlantic Ave (or perhaps take the F train to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue or 4 Avenue / 9 Street).

I don't think we will be able to figure this out before the next video drops on Sunday, but if the clues in the fourth episode have anything to do with Prospect Park, I think we can breathe easier.

Thank you! That's a lot clearer. ok, so still the E (blue), F (orange), M (orange) , R (yellow) line up with the colored boxes.

R train - part time or no service to Forest Hills/71st Ave
M train -part time or no service to Forest Hills/71st Ave
F train - does stop there
E train - does stop there

So you can take the D from columbus circle to 7th ave station, then transfer to E train. OR the D train to 47-50th Rockefeller station and transfer to the F train.

I think that's right.

Thank you for this. This is why I agreed earlier that we could easily make things fit for queens and brooklyn haha.

Until the next video!

I agree that i think Roosevelt ave is where they are talking with the 4 of 5 visible. One thing that seemed important to me was near the end when they had the blue one on top mario says "Watch out pirates. We're on the right track" which led me to think maybe you take the Blue (aka E) from there onward.
