Aqueduct

Yes, furlongs makes me think of horse racing first, so it is a possible interpretation. Is Aqueduct within the city proper? I thought that was too far out.

Of course, 28 furlongs is a long distance

28 furlongs is too long for a horse race. I'm not sure the clue is "28 furlongs" though. It might be just "furlongs" and the 28 refers to something else, possibly even that the clue is out of order and belongs to an earlier episode.

Transcript details

Crothers is not mirror image in the last shot, I think, FT. He is just upside down. It is still his right eye and left arm missing.

Others have said that Tom's last word was "come" rather than "known". There seems to be a dropout in your recording right at the start of the word, so it is not clear.

部 is Chinese? Are kanji used in both Japanese and Chinese?

Yes, kanji are the Chinese characters used in Japanese. Japanese also uses hiragana and katakana characters to connect the kanji in sentences, which is how you can distinguish a Japanese sentence from Chinese in print.

Putting our 北部 into Babelfish and telling it to translate from Japanese to English is how we get "North section" (the first character 'kita' is simply 'north', the 2nd character 'bu' means 'part of a whole')

Yes, the Aqueduct is in Queens. One of the A-train stops is called "Aqueduct - NORTH Conduit Av"... "NORTH Part"...?

YES!!! I came here to say this!!! Furlongs is code for horse races. Sweet!!!!

But what's our starting point?

Last I checked, none of us were in agreement to whether they left Columbus Circle or not. So is this FROM Columbus CIRCLE or is this FROM another location?

Also... keep in mind that in Japanese? The Compass starts with East and ends with South. Not that knowing this helps any.

How about Belmont?

Is that track within the city limits too?

Answer, no it is in Elmont, not in the city proper.

Number of clues so far

By my count, 40 clues for the first three episodes is close to right. Something like 32 for sure and another dozen maybes. So the 41-43 could really be the clue number, rather than clues themselves.

New to the posts

Hey everyone! I have been following this hunt since the first video came out and live in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Alot of interesting theories have been thrown out. I can't wait to see where the actual chest is buried!

Did anyone make a reference to Clue 41 appearing on screen and the first words mentioned were "WAIT, THIS AIN'T RIGHT?"
