Comedy or Horror?
Since there seems to be actual activity on this, moving it from the 'Trailhead or Spam' thread to its own.

First, Merago recieved a PM:

That goes to a vlog of a guy who does 'comedic films' - there's one of them on the site, a 20 minute deal called 'Rocket Robin Hood'. Around 2:31 there's some 'weird errors' that have the sound go weird and his face blur and turn all strange. He mentioned these errors on his website (http://www.greatbigjerk.net/) but seems to think nothing of them.

I extracted the sound and tried to see if I could reverse it and get anything out of it, but I'm not that good with audio - no real results. Maybe someone else can manage it.

On his site, in the comments for the vlog was this:

On the tumblr account at this point were three entries.

The next video on the GBJ site is labeled 'Someone left me a strange present' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdBKVAb0ab0&feature=player_embedded) - in it, he says that someone left a box on his apartment door, which was odd because the exterior door was locked. The box is empty, but written on it are the numbers 24-12-13-21-22-8-8. Also in the video are a couple cuts to the forest - one empty, one of the same shot but with someone crouching down and covering his head, and one lingering shot of a sign that just says 'HELP' - looks like a street sign that someone positioned the camera to cut off everything but that bit.

Just today, a new video has appeared on the tumblr site, and on Youtube it's set up as a 'response' video to 'Someone left me a strange present'. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKQLNsnNies&feature=player_embedded).

It starts out with a stick figure, text saying 'There was a boy'.
Then the stick figure is kneeling. Text reads: 'He SAW something terrible' - SAW blinks out, replaced by numbers: 23-18-23
Creepy smily face. Text reads: 'He pretends to be happy' - there's a single frame or two that 'happy' blinks out to read numbers: '26-15-18-5-22'
Creepy square unhappy face. Text reads: 'But he is empty' - briefly replaced by a momentary shot of woods.
More numbers: 8-7-12-11, and below them 19-18-14
Camera zooms in on a hollow tree, camera goes 'into' it, then back to the numbers.

I left a message to GBJ's response to the comment with a link to the tumblr site, and got an answer.

Still, I guess they're all possible "suspects". I hope it's not a stalker or something, I've had a couple before(nothing too serious) and it sucks getting rid of them.

I really wish real life was like CSI. Then I could just zoom and enhance on the box to find out who did this, their home address, and their favourite colour.

 		Okay, the numbers in retrospect were a really easy cipher - it's a reverse numeric, Z=1 .. A=26.

The original PM from 0000000 and post listing the tumblr site reads:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The numbers on the box read:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
CONFESS


The numbers flashed in the video change what the sentences read:
'HE SAW SOMETHING TERRIBLE' becomes:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
HE DID SOMETHING TERRIBLE


'HE PRETENDS TO BE HAPPY' becomes:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
HE PRETENDS TO BE ALIVE


And the numbers at the end of the sequence read:

STOP HIM

 		Hey, been lurking for a few days now, but this is my first post here.

So, being an audio kind of guy (went to college for audio and music), I decided I'd try and reverse that audio and see if anything came up.

Frankly, I couldn't find anything. I reversed, and slowed it down a little. Before that, I tried speeding it up. It sounds like he might be spouting off random syllables or vocal sounds. Like, "uh" or "ee" or "oh". Those types of things.

Oh, and I guess I must be on the right track with this stuff because I was going to try the reverse alphabet cipher before I saw your post.

Don't know what to make of it, but it definitely feels like someone is trying to contact him for something he did or saw at one point.

Yeah, I played around with the audio for a bit too when I first got the PM, but I couldn't make anything out very clearly. What I did get sounds to me like it's a computer generated voice saying something like "Keep up with the *something*", but the last word is not clear at all.

maybe a couple of non-relevant pieces of info I spotted in the above video, the crouching guy at the very end is wearing a similar PEI t-shirt as GBJ (same skull/crossbone at top of shirt, can't quite make out the words), but guess they are quite common for PEI (Prince Edward Island, off the northern peninsula of Nova Scotia, the large flag of which GBJ sits in front of in the Aug 21st vlog).

The other thing is that while I like the idea of thirds, I think the open document on his computer is interesting. It seems to read something like, "Hey, it's me. I'm having the dream(?) again. I'm afraid it's happened(?) again" and then there is something after the line space that I can't make out.

well of course, after i posted THEN i tried it, and it didn't work. I saved the HTML page locally, and it did load in my browser (minus the style sheets). I didn't see any updates on it past Monday.

 		Ditto. Spooky vids and a bit of ascii art in the source code are only a couple of the nice touches here.

Just mentioning I also messed with the audio. Finally got a ET-ish voice saying imo: "S/he will not, you will not, kill me..." Audio wasn't clean enough to merit attaching here 'tho it's no worries to do so. Cyas....
