??

i do understand your points about the chest not being buried which are completely reasonable. I just dont agree that a simple ships name would bring you all the way to changing what your looking for especially since it was in 1 episode of a series that had 66 episodes. I took that clue as part of the nightime theme as i do believe we will be on laptops with flashlights and shovels the night of episode 8s premiere diggin holes all over the nyc.

A NOTE TO ALL FILL YOUR HOLES BACK UP !!!!! LOL

I don't know what would make anybody think the treasure isn't buried.

READ THE WEBSITE !!!!!

"There is a wooden chest BURIED somewhere within the five boroughs of New York City, and it is filled with $10,000 in U.S. currency"

"There is a real BURIED treasure under New York City. Good hunting, enjoy the videos—and by the way...this is for real."

"Oh, and PLEASE don't just start DIGGING all over NYC."

"Well, there's the rub. We can't show footage of the CHEST GOING INTO THE GROUND; it might give something away"

"Come on, give me a little more than that!
IT'S BURIED. And it's in one of the five Boroughs of New York City. Also, don't just start digging randomly. You'll know when you've found it."

If you think the treasure isn't buried then you are an illiterate moron. I'm pretty positive I know where it is. I'll be DIGGING Saturday in Brooklyn.

Re Mulligan has to hold off till dark

Mulligan has an urgent need, but the Captain objects. Maybe this is his solution:

Uhm...I think you must have missed this part in the FAQ from which you were quoting...

Do I have to watch all eight episodes to find the treasure? I think I already know where it is!
You really need to watch all eight episodes to know where the treasure chest is. It is VERY unlikely someone would find it without watching each of the eight episodes.

Metal detector
Rental

Before digging for the chest you think buried in dirt rather than an underground storage unit, you might borrow a metal detector.

during a whip in episode 1

when the caption is haveing a memory about crothers in episode one. as the memory ends the camera whips back to being in the captions room. during the whip at about 3:46 you can see what looks like a play ground or maybe some kind of awning with what looks like a bench next to it. do you think that has any kind of significance? i only meniton it becuse when the memory starts it fades to crothers with the knife but when the memory ends it whips away. it seems a bit more purposfull to me then just being random. i tried to attach the pic i got of it but i cant figure it out lol.

I think the speed of the cuts is just showing the change in mood, with the captain daydreaming and then being suddenly recalled by Mulligan breaking in with the Morse code. The building/picnic shelter, whatever it is, seems to really be in the park where they shot the flashback scene. I don't think we are supposed to be able to make anything out of it though. It could even be the burial site; so could the captain's rock in the Tutty flashback, but there is no way to tell, unless someone recognizes the area. Maybe the familiar look would be a confirmer if someone gets to the site by other clues.

Mulligan link to video
Gothic architecture in video linked by Mulligan; Hardy Boys

FWIW, note the Gothic architecture and church setting of the video that Mulligan linked. I believe the fellow sang in Macy's parade in 2008.

Hardy Boys plot (Hunting for Hidden Gold)
Lucky Bottom / amnesia

Note that the plot involved a miner who forgot where he hid his gold due to amnesia (upon being grazed by a bullet).

The name of the mining town was Lucky Bottom.
