Maybe I was too quick to dismiss this. Maybe we are to look at "rickrolling" as more of a clue? Something along the lines of everything links to one spot, or every route goes to one place? Or to get anywhere you have to go through the same place first?

Or (and this fits with being at Aqueduct) everything goes BACK to the same spot, over and over, around and around... like a race track.

This is true for where I think it is. Maybe I'm nuts, maybe I'm digging too deep, but it all fits together Smile
I just wish I knew if they were intended to be links or not though.

One more "hasty pudding reference: it's in one verse of YANKEE Doodle... "just sayin'..."

But I think, considering the number of ex-Presidents who have been members as was mentioned before, that the answer is that they (Mulligan pluralized it) can be found on the presidential dollar coins.

I notice that the last Hasty Pudding show, HPT 162, featured a character in a Yankees uniform, as well as a potato character.

The HP show toured at Hunter College CUNY, in Manhattan. Could just be a riff on hunting for gold. 3 blocks east of CP, subway station (4&6 lines).

The verse in Yankee Doodle is "...and there we saw 10,000 men as thick as hasty pudding." That works with the 10,000 coins being the Hasty Pudding men (presidents).

no self respecting new yorker would make a clue contingent on bostonians.

Thoughts on earlier clues
Listening, Tom's clues, Tweets, Blooming subway, lowercase, David Emge Kevin Foree, NJ and Penn

I've controlled my obsession for a while but not anymore! Here's what I think on a few of the earlier clues:

1. The very first clue is the sound in the intro to the first episode. I think that sound is of the place where the treasure is buried. Hence the Captain's clue about listening. Sounds like our treasure is next to a place where boats are docked.

2. I think one of Tom's clues will always be for the next episode. Always. Like the ballfield lamppost numbers. I think the 1,2,3,4 Japanese counting Mount Rushmore clue is for Episode 3 with the subway directions. I think it means take four trains. On the third train you will pass over Roosevelt (Island?). I think the purple train line behind Tom is a clue for Episode 4 or maybe he means the Chinese star as a clue. Subsequently, this would mean that his quote in Episode 4 is really for Episode 5.

3. The tweets always make more sense to me when I read them a week late. Like the Grimmace, Jack in the Box, Burger King tweet makes more sense after seeing the Larry King episode and the Polyphonic Spree song by Glove and Boots. So about the rickrolling, the significant thing for me is that it was #1.

4. The Captain talks about that Blooming sandwich commercial. Well there is a mural called Blooming at 59th and Lexington, with a tree, coffee cups and what looks like a cats eye, may just be a coincidence though. The cat in a tree with the firefighters might be referring to the firefighters right there at Columbus Circle that have a painting of a Lion on their gates.

5. When Tom says lowercase does he mean what Crother's just said. If so, Crother's calls Tom 3 times. If you say tom lowercase then that's like a tomcat. A lowercase tom just means being male. There are restrooms along the path to Umpire Rock. Maybe that's what that means.

6. In the ticker: David Emge, Kevin Foree. Do they mean David M-G, Kevin 4-E? If so those are intersections of trains to the left and right of Roosevelt Island. Also when it reads you can go visit but they won't be there anymore, I don't think they meant that the mall (read: World Trade) isn't there anymore, I think they were referring to the people not the mall. I feel like that might be a little too crass for them, no?

7. NJ roads versus PA directions. That to mean points to the subways that also offer transportation to these states, like the PATH trains...

So yeah. That's a lot. And maybe none of it is helpful because this group seems to agree with where we are now, but I think the ultimate picture that we draw on the map might be important.

I think that several types of clue trails exist here. They appear to loop through the same gates, but probably because there are mirrored clues(which co-link to each other) that send us to the same direction. Maybe this was done so that the people who are not in the NYC area also had a chance to find the answers without being physically there. I have found many references to every clue on the internet as well as what some of you have confirmed from the ground
in the end though, I think these are ROUTES in which we can take to come to the same conclusions/points of interest.

When captain mentions the sneakyness of this hunt and that thing he does with his fingers when grasping it by 'THE BELLY'...is he refering to something in the lines of a belly dancer? I think he is....

Uhm...I think you must have missed this part in the FAQ from which you were quoting...
Quote:
Do I have to watch all eight episodes to find the treasure? I think I already know where it is!
You really need to watch all eight episodes to know where the treasure chest is. It is VERY unlikely someone would find it without watching each of the eight episodes.
