I've been out for a few weeks now and I came back to see that nothing has happened Sad is there anything ive missed going through the past few posts?

Hmmm, just the usual oscillation between speculation and boredom Wink

 		New flash download on RP site?
The HD in my laptop died a few weeks ago, and I got it back a few days later and started restocking web sites and such, and had been to all of the IG sites, etc.

Today I was messing around with the flashing green lights, and such, and it seemed as though there were new sounds. I got to one point where all were green, and on the panel that has the 18 buttons, stuck with one color and punched such until they were all giving off the same sound. Blasted off and got to some point (can't recall all of the details) where I was asked if I wanted to allow a download (?) from the site. Definitely had not seen that before, and "agreed" to the download which was a flash (I believe) of some sort. Came up with a weird arrow that seemed to react as some sort of steering mechanism. Dropped out of the site and tried to see if it would occur again. Haven't had any luck, don't know what it was about, hadn't seen it before, so thought I'd throw it out there for someone else to try.

if you get it again, use ALT+PRTSCRN to get it copied to the clipboard, then paste it into Paint and save it as a jpg, upload it.

Did you blast off from home base when you got it?

Thanks for the advice.

Yes, I had blsted off from the home base and was trying different features, ie. PMC, Astronaut, etc. (and it happened so fast with the pop-up that once I accepted the download I got this weird black arrow when I'd move the cursor, in fact, the arrow thing wa "frozen" so that even going down to the start tab, or up real high on the screen, the black arrow remained. When I first moved it around, it was as though it was controling the direction of the ship's orientation!?! When I'd move the cursor up, the black arrow was oriented topside, when I moved it down, the arrow changed to a downward pointing arrow (also black).

At one point the I had a black arrow pointing up, a black dot below it, and below that, a black arrow pointing down.

I couldn't get the black arrow off the screen until I finally moved it over the scroll board (right below the "Blast Off" bar). The scroll had frozen where it was printing out locations of the RP truck on the words "Speedflier fleet" and at some point when I moved the black arrow over the printout marquee, the black arrow finally changed to the "right hand with index finger pointing upward." I clicked on it and it rebooted the site back to the "refueling" stage.

Just real puzzling as I hadn't seen that happen before. Thanks again for the advice about printing the screen, and I apologize for being such a nerd when it comes to all things 'puter, although most who've seen my rants have no doubt discerned that before, as I've yet to master even copying statements from others (as most know how to do) whereas I type them out.

 		its pritty easy to get all the green lights on just duble click eash button make sure you dont hover mouse over the buttons ive tried all the buttons up all the brown light white and no luck with this pop up

Yeah, I wasn't saying that the green buttons caused this pop-up download request and what followed.

Like most of us, we've tried moving the switches (on the left/right/both) on/off before/after blasting off, in addition to numerous combinations of the 18 button panel, the green buttons, and so on

I didn't log every detail of what I pushed/didn't push every time I played around with the buttons--obviously I should have--and I don't think you're suggesting that I've now found out how to get the lights to stay green.

What happened with the pop-up download request, my acceptance of it, and the resulting bizarre black arrow(s) occured and I was sharing it to see if anyone else had had this happen, and just giving a head's up to see if it happens with anyone else in the future.

Edit--for any of you who are 'puter savvy, is there a way that I can find out just what the application was and perhaps the particulars about it that I downloaded from RP?

 		I'm wondering if you somehow caused a bug that started an unreleased portion of the code or something. Did it save a file on your drive anywhere?

Just look at your download history. It will be there.

As for what happened on the RP site, it has not changed since "Fly the Rocket SSF!" appeared. And, if you remember, there was a lot messed up with the original coding for the flash.

I have seen the downward facing arrow and the dotted arrow before ... This happens when you have an older version of FLASH (along with the newest), the site is not quite confirming the newest version was installed properly (you may have both an older version and the newest on your system. Deleting (add/remove) the older version will stop this.

Also, for MAC users ... To print screen hold down "command+shift+3" ... you will get a .png on your desktop "Picture 1".
