New post from Damsel:

Quote:
PRIOR TO CANTO THREE
It was a night of thaw, a night of blow,

With great excitement in the air. Black spring

Stood just around the corner, shivering

In the wet starlight and on the wet ground.

The lake lay in the mist, its ice half drowned.

A blurry shape stepped off the reedy bank

Into a crackling, gulping swamp, and sank.

The poem is from Nabakov's Pale Fire (Russian connection again, or just coincidence?)
It comes from Canto 2 - in which the protaganist's daughter, Hazel, drowns herself - hence the "stepped off the reedy bank".
A reference to recent events?

Shocked I KNEW I HEARD THAT POEM BEFORE!! Twisted Evil

Hmm... Pale Fire is about a delusional psychopath... or about a real king in disguise... Laughing

Anyways, that sounds bad for Jessa... Crying or Very sad

Is anyone else ever-so-slightly disappointed by the lack of use of the #wheresjeff thing? When I saw them bring that up, I was hoping we'd get to use it to find clues and work together to eventually figure out where he was... didn't work out that way, exactly. I'm not really clear on what the point of that was.

Maybe we'll get to work together to find Jessa somehow? Who knows. Maybe I'm just itching for more super ARG-ish elements, hahah.

I'm glad Jeff is home safe, though. Also, I think it might be worthwhile to contact that blackandredandyellow dude, just to feel like we've covered all our bases.

That is exactly what I was expecting. Instead the "clues" were Jeff himself uploading videos saying "yo dudes I am in Alabama". The last few updates have been badass so I am not complaining, but I don't understand why they made a big deal about the #wheresjeff hashtag when things progressed as if it didn't exist.

I agree that the #wheresjeff spiel was a bit useless, hopefully we'll be able to find Jessa before she starts uploading videos about her childhood (pun).

Also, are Jeff & the crew completely unaware of the distortion in the videos until prior reviewing their upload?

Perhaps #wheresjeff might have been some sort of viewership thing? As in, they did it until they had, say, three hundred #wheresjeff things, then progressed with the story?

Also: I would presume that they don't see it unless they put it in themselves (for their Slenderfaux), in the same way that they can't see some of the videos on their account.

Oh, and I quite liked how 76of74.avi wrapped up the "kicked-in-door" bit from - - - (I think? One of the first two punctuation videos).

I HAVEN'T SEEN JESSA IN A WHILE.
Some officer, or agent, or whatever you want to call the uniform, came by and tried to question me today.

I was "on my way to work" - he said they'll gladly be back soon.

I'm starting to feel sick again. I probably shouldn't have gotten rid of all my medicine.

I shouldn't have made friends.

Hard to say. I can't think of a time they ever acknowledged it, and I've messaged them about it directly a couple times on Twitter to no result. I can't tell if it's "it is horrifying and I don't want to think about it" like Jay in Marble Hornets, or if for the purpose of the story they simply can't see it.

Perhaps they distort on upload? Like a localized field, once its far enough away from slendy, his effects become less......controlled?

They've acknowledged that they are unable to see certain videos, going so far as to post screen caps of "File not found" screens from YouTube. Specifically it was "..." and "---". They haven't spoken in any way about ".-" yet. Perhaps they are unaware of the distortion altogether as part of that effect? Have they ever acknowledged the distortion?

I love this idea. I don;t know if it would get weaker, or stronger, or whatever slendy does, but it makes sense why they can't see it while editing etc.

First post, BTW. I just spent a few days reading through these pages. I have to say, I liked EMH from the beginning, but after reading all of the amazing theories, I am that much more into it. Smile Thanks guys!
