[MISC] Kamal's Payphone Joke

Did anyone else notice in the "Uvular Implants" .wav, Kamal makes a joke about payphones.
He's talking about his new chatter (the one that he "won" in the raffle that Durga rigged) and says:

K: "...It's fine too, makes my old one look like a payphone"
Sophia:"A payphone?"
k: "An ancient piece of crappy hardware, half of them wouldn't even take incoming calls, no GPS..."

I found that quite amusing, it also shows that the .wav's are being recorded fairly recently and that the people recording them are listening to us gripe about axon hunting.

There are those who said this day would never come, what are they to say now?

yeah, I thought about that too. I wonder if these are being recorded and edited weekly. I wonder how much shaping of the stories within the WAVs we're actually doing by contacting the SP and Dana... it's funny, I always assumed that these had been recorded months, even years ago (maybe back when they were recording the dialog for Halo 2), but this particular WAV leads me to believe otherwise. unless the PMs just have impeccable foresight.

They have hinted at something before. We know Bungie knows about this site and others related to playing the game. They interacting with us on these forums within the "game reality" seems to be a no-no, since these forums are behind the players curtain, but the PMs can drop by and lurk. As I understand it at least.

I get this weird sense of people looking at each, people not really existing. Like the infinite tunnel when two mirrors placed facing each other. It's some strange sort of solipsistic nightmare, and that's generating all the characters.

But, I've been sick for the last few days, so who knows what feverish delusions I may have. Wink

Your Elite talk is worst than Ebonics....... Back on subject

[Wild Spec]I agree that they were recorded recently. But what is really interesting is all the background noise. It actually sounds like we are listening to a Movie with Video. Perhaps, they will release the Video that compliments the Audio when we reach 777 axons.[/Wild Spec]

And that's a BIG maybe

Sorry I didn't sign up for "How to learn l33t in 25,000 easy steps" lol, anyways Background sounds can easily be put in, Though a movie woud be cool, But imagine how much people would miss out with a slow connection, and the server would gush through it's brains.

This has been mentioned before, but...the content of the WAVs strongly implies that this is intended to be audio only. Have you ever seen an ad on TV, and also heard the same ad on the radio? There are differences between the two. Since you can't see the action, the radio ad has dialogue that explains the scene. For example, in the early WAV with the two security men observing Jan's romp through a restricted area, several bits of dialogue ("She jumped!") would have been unnecessary if we could watch the camera feeds along with them.

well plus, I'm not jumping on the bandwagon of the theory that the clips are recorded weekly, but it's a strong possibility... we say the PMs 'corrected' the first GPS that was in the water, and 'blamed' it on the SPDR... but who's to say that wasn't planned as part of the story? We have no proof it was a mistake. Numerous axons are continuously replaced weekly. We say the PMs are fixing mistakes. Who's to say the plan entirely from the beginning was simply to post GPS of phones, and relocate ones that aren't working? If this is true, it's prefectly reasonable that the audio clips would contain a joke about bad GPS, if they'd forseen that there would quite obviously be missed axons...

I'd say the chances are about 70-30 that the clips are recorded weekly... but that's MHO Wink
