Yeah,. I was thinking this too. Kinda fits with the premise that the fish blog is just to show he was an ordinary geeky nerdy guy who gets sidetracked and apparently involved in what he is learning about his dad and this stuff he found .....and where it leads us to..

Interesting how Josh has given up on his Coelacanth journal. Could all have been a (pun-------------->) red herring?

112 Code

If the message is "We Land In Witu" it could be referring to the Witu Islands (Volcanic Island Chain around Papua New Guinea). A quick search of landing and Witu reveals the "News from the Bow" blog-But this appears OOG as their website goes back to June 2009. Again OOG but www.travis-marshall.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/coral-triangle.pdf shows that you can find the elusive Coelacanth in this area.

Potentially useful info:

Hope something more breaks soon-Tis the end of the month so hopefully a bit more on print-out is pending Rolling Eyes

I also think we need to rethink where Josh works. I've been following posts as best as I can, and the general consensus has seemed to be that he works at a paper company....

Considering he speaks of the "office" I would assume he doesn't work in the actual mill, rather the corporate office perhaps? Just another option to think about while we await something big.

I can see this - similar to "The Office" tv show. Don't they all work for a paper distribution company?

Also... anyone think Sarah could be our mystery emailer on STIES? Maybe she got Josh drunk to pull some information from him. Or maybe we have a Luke and Leia story? ^_^

Josh's Forums

We know Josh has posted on ATS. We know he signed up on Shroomery.com. Somewhere Josh mentioned he wishes his online friends lived closer to his hometown. Did we ever find him posting on any other forums? I searched a bunch of fish forums with no luck so far.

OK now, I've read all the 55 sites and know now more than before, but not so much I should... I wrote a letter to Josh about his documents and old photos, perhaps I could help him, and build a contact in that way? Or he even will send me some pics of these documents (slight hopes, hehe).

Anyway, I'm in again, and must party. Immediately.

Haha, Melodyman,

you hit the mark! Since this Rocket Poppeteers thing is flimmering around, I feel myself beeing adressed at the personal level Laughing

Anyway, I hope they will answer to my email, so I can feel myself really beeing adressed, hehe. Like they did it at Star Trek.

Ah, unfiction, home sweet home

UPDATE. My brain begins to storm again, so... Will I be trouted, if I ask, what the heck does this calender mean?

I mean, Best Times to spot Rare Fish? Which one? Do they all (rare fishes) acting according the same schedule or so?

This makes me think about "rare fish" as a codename for something. But what?..

Fish Calendar

Welcome back Kosmopol;

It very well could be a code word, seeing as Josh claims to want to have a coelacanth housed in an aquarium (which has not proved possible--at least for amateurs).

But just what the calendar means by being the best time to spot rare fish is yet to be seen! Confused

Thank you, Xeno.
Have we actually already proved those times? Perhaps we have to observe all websites we know at those times. I'm even thinking about bostonfisherman.com (since it has counter of user at the moment online).

Perhaps the big fish appears online?

This could be interesting...

I also have a question, whether the "rare fish" we should spot is in the flash image slider on his homepage? I mean, appearing only at the time according the calendar? Kind of hidden image or so? Perhaps the documents he's trying to analyse?

update

September 7th
By Josh | Published: September 7, 2010

To some of you out there, thanks for pushing me. I'm thinking maybe I will buy that new aquarium. I deserve it, right? Plus it's got some new technology, some pressure system, that would let me house a Coelacanth – whenever I end up finding one. When someone leaves you money, you're free to do what you want with it, am I right? What else am I supposed to spend it on? It should be for something I love, no matter how others may have felt.

I'll think on it. See if I feel the same in a few days.

So, Josh's mom left him some money and others think he should spend it on???? but he wants a fish tank..Well, at least his money problems seem to have been solved for now..

If we didnt know this was IG I would think that we stumbled upon some fishing nerds blog for the lameness of it..

8 months and counting..

JULY 7th
I commented too :)

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but has anyone noticed that the title of the post for JULY 7th is all in caps?

I also commented on today's post:
Hey, long time reader, first time poster.
I think you should totally spend the money on a new aquarium for that Coelacanth once you get one!
You might want to check where you can actually find Coelacanth though, I'm pretty sure they're only in South Africa Smile
Have fun with the aquarium once you get it!
-Morgan Thrapp.

Now we wait...
