No word as of yet, but I'll keep you guys updated. Also, Tim did say it would start September-ish, but I'd have to confirm it.

I got this email from Jim a while back after I posted that question on Kickstarter.

Quote:

Sorry it's taken me a bit to respond to your comment. I plan on do a more public post about the game's approximate start date, but I didn't want you to think I was ignoring you. Just busy, and incredibly hot (No AC).

The thing about Socks, Inc. is that we are building a world or an ecosystem, rather than just a one off game. So while the game may launch officially in September, additional narratives will continually be added and expanded throughout the game's life. Socks, Inc. is being designed to be both casual and replayable.

I know I have done a terrible thing getting everyone excited for the game months before it is ready, but we wanted to do something different and try to start a dialogue about supporting the burgeoning indie game community. I really appreciate your support and interest, and I am glad you are as excited to play the game as I am.

So that was a long answer to a relativity simple question... the short answer is September, hopefully (perhaps sooner for beta testers). Very Happy

Let me know if you have more questions,
Thanks again,
Jim <3

So beta will start a bit sooner. Possibly sometime this month. I wonder how the devs will keep spoilers away from the beta testers. I backed with a $25 pledge which got me beta access. Wondering if I'll have to sign an NDA (non disocklosure agreement)

All Right, Thanks!
I wish I could have gave some cash.
But, I can't wait for Socks Inc. to start! I even went to the Sock Shop:

It's kind of a cruddy pic since I took it with my Cell.
Also, I'm thinking about making my sock a Mariachi. Razz

Unfortunately, I think the hype around the game has died down a bit.

Gratz to Jim Babb and the team for getting so much attention for Socks, Inc. though. I'm kind of sad its going to delay the launch of the game, but I'll keep watching as I'm sure we'll see updates as they travel to the events.

How vital is it that someone goes to this? I'm nearby, but I'm not participating in this game. Plus, that's a work day for me. If no one else is available, and you NEED swag to be picked up, I'll have to look at my schedule.

p.s., I'm also close enough to Cupertino to swing by the The Eurphrat Museum of Art for whatever is there October thru December. I just won't be motivated to do so unless asked to do something specific for you.

I'm like a few minutes away from San Jose and was even thinking of helping out in the 01SJ Biennial. Smile One more thing: is swag like tangible things from the game? or can someone explain what it means plz. Very Happy

Yeah swag is like freebies and stuff. The 011iver patches people received after sign-up is a good example of swag.

FYI: Socks, Inc. announced on Facebook that they've been asked to pitch the Socks, Inc. concept at Power To the Pixel.

Best of luck there!
