Figurehead

Yeah and what about the glowing figurehead of the Maddie Hayes?
I wonder what it means since the mention of Lucky Jack's ghost. And the appearance of Crothers as a ghost now.
It use to be believed that it was bad luck not to have a figurehead and that spirits dwelled within it so that if the ship sank they would lead the crew to the land of the dead.
I think it is interesting to note that in politics a figurehead can also be derogitorally referred to as a puppet.

Lightening
as pointer to Belvedere Castle, home of Count Von Count

http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Count_von_Count

When he finishes counting, The Count laughs and announces his total (which sometimes appears on screen). This finale is usually accompanied by a crash of thunder and a flash of lightning. (According to The Sesame Street Bedtime Storybook, the Count has a personal cloud that hovers over his head and provides the thunder and lightning.)

octopus named Octavia. The Count plays a large pipe organ, and in some illustrations he is seen playing the violin.

Somewhere Under the Rainbow

Make the Rainbow Connection

In Count All the Way to Sesame Street, a book based on Follow that Bird, the Count's license plate number is simply "123." That is the number that appears on the MADDIE HAYES in the first episode (in the lights). If you want to make sense of Ninja Tom's numbers, stop looking in the dark.

In recent years, Matt Vogel has taken over the puppetry of the Count, among other Jerry Nelson characters, while Jerry Nelson still provides the voice. Will you be surprised if Jerry's nickname turns out to be Lord Nelson and he is the puppeteer's mentor?

merchant flag
from crows nest

has anyone noted that the merchant flag of a green background with yellow diamonds could be seen from the crows nest (if it is belvedere) as the great lawn which has five baseball diamonds on it?

Is the Luce Observatory at the Belvedere also clued?
Belvedere Castle

luce observatory

look to the light, stop looking in the dark

In Spanish, the verb lucir means

shine, glow, give off light, gleam; Synonyms: brillar, radiar, relucir, centellear, chispear, emitir luz intensa, fulgurar; Iluminar, resplandecer.
El alumbrado luce, The lighting shines.

luce

lucio; flower of luce: flor de lis

you'll recall the pirate was pointing to his tatoo of the flor de lis.

Please go now to the castle and luce observatory and take lots of pictures.

why don't we just hoist a flag and tell everyone where ...
to find us and how to listen to our clues

Not easy to find, one looks for the flag

Belvedere Castle

Look for the waving American flag atop the castle and you will be sure to ...

family.go.com/travel/things-to.../poi-863546-belvedere-castle/

and remember "Home Sweet Home"?

Under this theory, you would appreciate that Count von Count just has an addiction to counting and ignore all the numbers.

Belvedere Castle

I have to chime in.

The treasure is not in Central Park. It's not. It's not there. That isn't a clue, it isn't a trick, it isn't a ruse. It's the one and only thing they (the puppeteers) have made very clear and straightforward on both their television interviews, and on their website. It's not in Central Park. It's not at Belvedere Castle. It's not near the Victorian Bridges. It's not in Central Park. It's not there. They didn't trick you and bury it in Central Park. It's not there.

It. Is. Not. In. Central. Park.

Now... can we try and figure out WHERE it might actually be????

I think the whole opening dialogue between the crabs at the start of Monkey Business is just to make fun of British pronunciation. I don't think it's significant.

Is anyone else currently at the top of Manhattan, after following the clues?

I think that's the Ram 'O Cam ad. Check out the excellent video summaries for the full text.

Men that is dead

Excellent thought. Or it might be just that they are still at the cemetery from episode 6. I wonder if Ghast Ghoulo could tie in somehow.
