 		As far as I can tell both Jessa's necklace and the objects in the new picture are Hands of Fatima/hamsas - the symbol in the middle can differ somewhat.

 		Most important question - if Jessa was taken after Jeff gave her the necklace... why does Damsel think it might protect her?

still new, so tell me if I do something stupid...
Like I've said, a hand with something in the palm is a somewhat common simbol, cross-culturally. The hamsa was my first thought too, and the Ustream necklace does look like one. The simbol in Damsel's picture doesn't look like a hamsa, but in that site I've linked it shows there are petroglyphs similar to it.

In most examples I've seen, it's a protective simbol. Muslims and Jews wear the hamsa much in the same way Christians wear crosses, to keep evil away and invoke divine protection and there's a nice page on the more modern meaning associated with the ancient pictograms: http://www.houseofdubhros.com/library/symbols/symbol.php?id=30 - also check the hamsa page on same site: http://www.houseofdubhros.com/library/symbols/symbol.php?id=29

I thought the fact that this site had exactly the infos we needed was a bit suspect, but it seems legit - a quick check with whois sez it was created in 2005.


My hypothesis is that

it's meant to be the same simbol as seen in different cultures. It's a very nice touch, if it's like that, because it would hint to the hypothesis that the SM is this very ancient, powerful creature that has appeared in different cultures across the world and that every culture had to come up with a version of this defensive simbol. But that's just a pet theory.


I think the most important clue is the date on the pic. Also, maybe the White Stripes song is important - but maybe it's just another reference to flood . To me it sounds like Damsel has decided to help the boys, against her better judgment. Any ideas on that?

Also, IIRC usually when CYSTW updates there's a new EMH video coming, right? Very Happy

 		I think the similarity of the two symbols was just a mistake, that they thought they were the same, but actually aren't, so as far as I am concerned, they are intended to mean the same thing.

 		Getting annoyed at the no video. But the EH tweet said the wanna take time to do it right.

In other news, remember how I said I'd do a SlenderStory. Well for the longest time I had writers block, but lately I've been analyzing how to write a SlenderStory and every element involved so as to see how I should write mine (a video's out, as I don't live near my director/filmmaker friend; comic might do, me and my girl are testing if her art style will work in such a medium; story/blog seems likely though). But MY storything isn't important. What is is that once I finish this it'll be a resourde for people wanting a bit of help on how to write a SlenderStory (my catch all term for anythin Slenderman, save pics for now). What would make it great is that I know my first version will be subpar, so what if the community improves upon it?

Right now it's good, but VERY disjointed, and still far from first draft complete.

 		Hey guys, I don't think this means anything but I thought it a funny coincidence. The symbol of the hand with the swirly mark is currently the icon for a phone app known as 'Laputa.' http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-reader-books-laputa-ui-AFFw.aspx It's an app for downloading books. Does the swirly hand mark have something to do with books? *shrug*

Also, the hand with the circle in the center that Jeff bought for Jessa seems to be a popular symbol right now. I just found a necklace with that symbol at a local Target store. It was the last one on the shelf. I guess all the other Slenderman victims are buying them for protection. =P

 		With the repeated emphasis on the upcoming video covering "everything", is anybody else expecting some revelations about stuff that was going on behind the scenes? I wouldn't put it past these guys to make a recap and a game-changer at the same time.

Considering that they've seemed to pick up speed in the last updates it might be a last "pause" before things go def downhill - a "the story so far" video would make sense.

Also, if they're telling "behind the scenes" stuff, could it be that the date on Damsel's pic is telling us to look for something in that video? Something that will be shown to have happened on that date, for example? Sorry if I insist on the date thing, but, eh, it makes sense in my head.

Damsel said that the date was from the sellers camera, not her's. She is probably lying though...

 		hey guys, i know it seems a little and random to ask this but has anybody noticed that there is apparently 7 possible clues and that there are seven "episode" videos that everymanhybrid posted? just might be a coincidence. if anybody has already notice then forgive me for being ignorant.
