In the first episode, they are not in as sharp focus, since the camera was on the pirates sitting in them. But they do have the holes, I think. They represent the suckers on the squid's arms. They do not look like a particular pattern to me.

And Tom.... I sees nuttin' but signs ahind him at the 3:48
But be that a girl sneakin' away at 4:07?

All I see is the Cap'n's hair weaving around his fingers there.

And it doesn't look like he is pointing. If you watch a few seconds, it looks more like he is trying to filch a chip.

Good eye on the human there at 4:08. One of the puppeteers maybe? Whoever it is wears glasses.

Hm what *is* that big X-out on the queen of clubs all about. Interesting spot...

Are you guys talking about the queen of SPADES on the table??? Or the queen of clubs in Toms hand? Or is either one of them shown another time?

They're talking about the Queen of Clubs in Tom's hand. It looks like the club she is holding has an x through it. It could just be the design. It's hard to tell.
