[OT] Hi guys been in the IRc channel bee keepers since thursday. This is a note maby to the admins of the IRC server. I've been having problems conecting to IRC through the web site and through MIRC.

If this needs to be moved somewhere do So Please. I couldn''t fiind the proper place for it . also is there a general ARG thread to discuss them in general ?

Thanks in advance Brendan

It's been flakey for me over the last week, but I hear that's standard.

Kaos_engr and I are chatting on a rather dead IRC right now...try connecting through nemesis.nv.us.hub.chat-solutions.org if you can specify the server (like in mIRC). Alternately, I have been able to let IE do the work of resolving the DNS by just browsing to irc://irc.chat-solutions.org ... IE automatically lanuches mIRC for me and connects to the right server.

YMMV, I assume.

EDIT: Kaos tells me the IP is 69.28.250.199, and he says that chat-solutions has two servers, one of which is down. The IP above works for him to connect via Firefox, so I assume all browsers will resolve the DNS for you.

Oddly, mIRC will not resolve the DNS for you, so you would have to connect via the specific server or IP if you go that route. The moral of this story? Just connect by typing irc://irc.chat-solutions.org into your browser. And the irc:// part is important there, or it will just browse to their website instead of IRC network.

Enjoy!

Yes, the european server has been down for about 24 hours now. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon.

Can I suggest that the java applet have it's server name list updated to include nemesis.nv.us.hub.chat-solutions.org (as this one still seems to work when others don't)? Please?

- Malrog is wondering what YMMV stands for

the chat-solutions IRC services are back, but they were unable to restore some settings. In particular, you will have to re-register your nick. (I don't have all the details, just thought there should be a mention here.)
