actually, I was told by a "operative" that I should keep my phone on and charged at all times in case "something happens". Take that as you will.

Plus spending money to keep these phones alive? my phone balance is at 33.60 and is due to expire in 11/16/2010. If these phones aren't supposed to be used again, why dump all of this money into several of the operatives phones?

I got the same advice when I talked to the "operative", that the phone was mine to use, but just in case, keep it handy.

The first round of top-offs I figured that would be when the phone would get their use, as it was what we estimated about $250 to top all the phones up. That nothing happened, well, I thought that was it. This second round of topping-off gives me a little more hope, but either way the ARG is working as intended; I can't shut up about Tron: Legacy!

same here. it really wasn't until i came here and saw the correlation between this and the Why So Serious? campaign that i started to religiously maintain the phone. i'm waiting for the November call for my private screening of the film Very Happy

Has it really come to this?

(Well, yeah I guess....)

I just missed two calls from a area code 260 number. I think it may be too late at night, but no message was left, thus letting my mind immediate jump to a conclusion I think I already have the answer to. Embarassed

It seems odd that they would be calling from Indiana...

Also, have you tried calling back?

Phone Rang!
Wrong Number?

I got a call from a 240 (Maryland) area code. I answered the phone, heard some background voices and maybe some kids yelling, and then they hung up.

Anyone else getting calls? Seems strange that two of us have gotten calls today. It might be the beginning of something...

I just hope something good will happen this time. There are a lot of prank calls out there and they are capable of doing everything just to annoy us. Beware of them, we must be vigilant and report their number immediately. business phone systems

Seems like you're getting a call from Qwest, my friend :p

That doesn't necessarily mean the call came from Qwest. It's more likely that the number is assigned to a Qwest customer.

At any rate, I've seen a bit of panic over the phones. I wanted to hopefully quell your fears...I had one of the first round of Joker phones during the Dark Knight ARG. There were times when the phones were silent for weeks and months. The accounts would often be topped off at the last minute.

Also, it was always very, very, very obvious when a text or phone call was part of an event. Typically they started with a text message, but there were a few rare cases where calls were made and recordings played. The only time I was ever called live was during a sick game of Telephone, and that was announced well in advance.

You can pretty much treat any random calls as junk.

I'm not saying that this is how the Tron ARG will happen, I'm just saying...don't worry! Very Happy

The Chicago phone just got an extra $15 put on it. It now has $29.80 on it. At $0.20/ min that is 149 min, or 2 hrs and 29 minutes. The phone's total still expires 2/20/2011

PHONE NO WORKY?

I have the drop phone from Vegas, and I've kept it charged and on for months now -- but out of curiosity, I went to check it today and tried to send myself a text message, and there was no service.

I called Virgin Mobile and they had disconnected the account due to lack of use. I had heard the drop phones may have been topped up by 42 -- but no such luck with mine.

Virgin says in order to reactivate the phone, it will have to be a different phone number. There was no way to re-use the same number, as the account had been dormant too long and was completely deactivated. Sad

Anyone with a working phone know how to get your code for your voicemail? I received one last night, but can't get to it. Probably nothing, but with the Tron Night promotion pending, I'd like to get to it, if I can.

BTW - North Carolina phone is still working.
