They hide the treasure in such an obscure place that you would never be able to get to with the videos like none of you have been, then thye tell a friend where it is. Friend digs it up, gives them 5k back and keep 5k...after all we do live in a capitalist society. They just saved 50%

VB you keep talking but all I'm hearing is "I'm a freaking lunatic, I'm a freaking lunatic, I'm a freaking lunatic"

 Treasure found????

I don't get it, first it was found by a brilliant person who out smarted all of us. Then it turns out that the person isn't smart at all like they claimed but is in fact a friend of the pirates who decided to tell him (none of their other friends) where it is but ask him to wait until October to say where it was or come forward or whatever. They did all this as part of an elaborate hoax to save themselves 50% in this capitalist society (when they wouldn't have to tell any of their friends and save 100%)? If you want to go that far why wouldn't they just not bury a treasure in the first place? This same person also posts a link to a Facebook message page with the pirates congratulating him for finding it, why would they not be upset with him for not waiting until October and why bother congratulating him when they already knew that they had told him where it is? Also why are there no pictures of this gentleman standing next to the freshly dug up treasure with him smiling from ear to ear? Finally, how did they know they could trust him to give them back $5000, after all it is cash so there is no way to be certain and money has a funny way of making people do things they normally would not do, even closest of friends? Can someone please explain to me how all these disturbing facts are supposed to make sense and be even remotely credible? Ladies and gentleman of the jury, I rest my case. Wink

Yeah, perfect sense. Except they gave the info to a douchebag who can't keep his mouth shut, and who would instantly un-do all the goodwill they have built with this series. Perfect sense, except, as others have pointed out, it makes no sense at all.

Oh, and said douchebag a) has nothing better to do than gloat when he just dragged 200lbs in coins home and, b)is so insecure he has to explain the economic rationale for them to do such a thing.

Get over it, dude.

Back to hunting!

Okay, so "we should have been listening to him from the very beginning".

Should we be paying attention to Mulligan's dialogue more carefully? He moves letters around a lot.

Listening to Mulligan

Yes let's get back on task. Screw the loonies. I've been agonizing over ELE since episode number one. This and the footprints map have always felt like the biggest clues to me. (Well, that and crow's nest.)

Did we ever make a wiki for this hunt? Or are we still just using traveller's other topic?

(Once again, thank you fellowtraveller for all your work.)

I've been playing with the idea that it's a letter replacement puzzle, with the cues coming from Mulligan. Like, Pentral Carp would mean that C->P, P->C, K->P to solve whatever the key word is. Does that make sense?

For windowsele, that's killing me. It anagrams into "in low weeds". Maybe Mulligan spouts anagrams in his weird outbursts, and combining the anagrams will lead to the treasure?

...and how about the one that's been aching my head - "Potato"

Going to re-watch them and pay attention to Mulligan. Frankly though, I got lost on The Larry King, and have only been a mildly interested observer since (Yes, I gave up early....)
