Consensus

Did we ever get a real consensus on what was the starting point of the whole thing? Was it the Balto statue?

Still so, so confused right now....

Wallach Walk?

The morse code said 'start at wallach walk'. There's a drinking fountain just downhill from Balto that has "Wallach Walk" written on it. I'm not sure where exactly the walk starts beyond the drinking fountain.

BUT...

Before that... at the entrance to the park, their is a statue in honor of Samuel Morse.

It simply says "MORSE". No plaque. No nada.

Also... guys... check it out. At 2:44 in The Final Episode. Check the window.

I FOUND IT!!!!

......is what I WOULD be saying if I actually, did!!! lol

Really, dude. Let's all be realistic enough to realize that this thing ain't gonna be found any time soon. The clues themselves are so obscure and sketchy at best. I'm guessing it's gonna be one of those things where you're driving by something one day and suddenly all the videos click. Just pray you have your shovel and a someone with you to help you carry the thing.

I myself always drive around with a shovel in my trunk just in case...

Hey look there's an emoticon to express the gravity of that statement:

Shocked

lol

Black Tom

Has anyone thought to decipher exactly what Tom is saying in ALL the videos? Not just the one called "The Black Tom?"

CREEPY WINDOW!

Ahh, yeah, Crothers is at the window at 2:44, and disappears before the next lightning flash. That's creepy!

Slim, nice! So that entrance to the park is the start of the clues? I'm convinced. That's the Inventor's Gate at E 72nd St.

Wait, why are you watching me? I'm confuuuused.

Okay, so "we should have been listening to him from the very beginning".

Should we be paying attention to Mulligan's dialogue more carefully? He moves letters around a lot.

This has been my strategy too. So far I have

C=P (Pentral Cark)
B=J (Belly Jeans)
E=L (from his misspelling "window sell" as "sele")

And re: 2.44 in last video--- is that Crothers in person form wearing a Tutty costume?

And the other thing that has been bothering me--- the King Tut Exhibit is on 44th street.....but I can't figure out a connection.

Just want to say also, I am a New Yorker and happy to investigate clues for people. I have been following the forum the whole time and I really like how good-natured everybody seems to be! (VD being the exception that proves the rule...)

I've been playing with the idea that it's a letter replacement puzzle, with the cues coming from Mulligan. Like, Pentral Carp would mean that C->P, P->C, K->P to solve whatever the key word is. Does that make sense?

For windowsele, that's killing me. It anagrams into "in low weeds". Maybe Mulligan spouts anagrams in his weird outbursts, and combining the anagrams will lead to the treasure?

You missed something I thought important:

Quote:
Captain: There ain't nothing sneaky about switching the "C" with the "P".

Mulligan: But you see what I did with the "C"...

"C" sound goes from S to K

0oo00 that is definitely not something I caught.. very intriguing

More Mulligan

Several times throughout the videos he says things TWICE.

"I'm on TV. I'M ON TV!!"

"Oh Yeah. I call! I call for sure!"

"I called. I CALLED!"

"Gorilla in the cabin! GORILLA IN THE CABIN!"

I think him saying things twice has got to be something since he does it so much.

"No no no no no no no. Captain. Captain. It's okay. It's okay. Look. Crothers and me switched Tutty with a potato. Huh, potata"

I always thought this line had to be something.
