Re: the Wisconsin telephone number
is Captain's message mere homage to Lost or is it a clue?

I didn't call the number....someone on this forum posted that info after that video. When I heard there was a recording of Captain rambling off lotto number it immediately made me think of Lost so I added them up and sure enough they were 108 just like the Lost lotto numbers. Lost also had fake commercial on TV with websites and phone numbers to call.

Not a tease. IF someone else has this ... I am hoping they put it together to mean something. I would think that would be Sonics reasoning as well.

It is 100% legit ... and maybe others have found it, but if that is the case, then they havent been sharing it for a reason. I'd like to let things play out for a few, and then pull it out. I havent figured out what to do with it.. but if the puppeteers are reading this... THEY know what the "gift" is, and thr reason I say "they put alot of money and time" into this hunt!!

Didn't the puppet masters explicitly say the only thing they left lying around was the treasure itself buried in the ground? Or are you referring to something in the videos themselves as a "gift?"

The Subways in NY do not run on a schedule. The buses do, but only barely.

That is not correct.

pass/fail?

Pass! I am working on episode 7 and believe that the following are homages and therefore are not clues:

1) a sea as dark as wine. (Homage to The Wine Dark Sea by Patrick O'Brien)
2)'Afore the boom of the thirteenth gun. (Homage to The Thirteen Gun Salute by Patrick O'Brien)
3) Mulligan: Gimme that pistol you little yellow...mmmrph! Bird: Not the admiral!(Homage to The Yellow Admiral by Patrick O'Brien)
4) Treason! Treason! Treason!(Homage to Treason's Harbour by Patrick O'Brien)

Does anybody see any others?

The references to Hardy could be to Robert Hardy, an English actor who narrates the audio version of Master and Commander.

Wow, I stand corrected. I don't think most NY'ers know this (puppeteers/most of the MTA included?). I've lived here for 10 years, and in the area nearly my whole life, and this is news to me.

Re: Wyoming telephone number
recording of Captain reading of lottery numbers

Spaniard wrote:
In episode 6 the comic book has an ad for General Anesthetic at the botton of the page is a telephone number and PO Box address in wyoming.....if you check the address on google maps it takes you to the words "Whatever it takes" and if you call the phone number it reportedly is a recording of Captain reading off lottery numbers....20, 17, 16, 14, 21, 12 and a Treasure ball of 8. (I haven't called it but noted previously that it was a real number).

Not quite. The number in the ad in the comic book gives the Captain, and yes it is just what FT said, with one inconsequential difference as already noticed. The number of "Whatever It Takes" is really the number of a small business called "Whatever It Takes", which does "textile finishing". You get their answering machine, just giving their name and saying they will call you back. No apparent association with the hunt. The business is in Caspar, in town, not out in the river gully. If you just look for Caspar and that zip code without an address you get that spot.

<edit> I should add, that probably these people submitted their business name to Google, just giving their PO box as address, and never corrected the location that showed up by default. The videomakers may or may not have noticed this and gave that zip code to take advantage of it, or possibly they just picked a Wyoming zip code to go with the Wyoming phone number and it is fortuitous.

Yes, I already looked at the corresponding titles, but didn't get anything from it:

20 Blue at the Mizzen
17 The Commodore
16 The Wine-Dark Sea
14 The Nutmeg of Consolation
21 The Final Unfinished Voyage of Jack Aubrey
12 The Letter of Marque
8 The Ionian Mission

I.m Losing It

I was in Virginia today on my way to North Carolina when I passed a small boat for sale on someone's lawn. Now get this. The boat was named "Jelly Bean" and it was pointed south by southwest. I'm not shi**ing you!!! So I bought it. Now I have to find a trailer and maybe another car as my 4-cylinder Kia probably won't get out of first gear...

Remember Gil Hodges!

Someone else observed that those numbers are a cryptogram for "ORTUNE F", or reading the treasure ball first, FORTUNE.

Uh. how.

You can get dozens and dozens of perfectly good words out of these numbers, not just Fortune. There are no repeating letters, so any word spelled with 7 different letters will fit.
