Uh. how.

You can get dozens and dozens of perfectly good words out of these numbers, not just Fortune. There are no repeating letters, so any word spelled with 7 different letters will fit.

So then that probably isn't it?

Guess nobody will be out looking tonight. Might I suggest the pirate documentary on the History International Channel? lol it's pretty good. For anyone (like me) who just plain enjoy pirates.

brainstorming the Captain 10-er reference as a possible code
Morris code - what is range of GPS numbers for NYC boroughs?

Captain talks about wanting to borrow a 10-er and someone mentions Alexander Hamilton was pictured on the $10 bill.

Perhaps it instead refers to Morris. Robert Morris' picture be appeared on the $10 certificates used by privateers such as the Captain. Along with Alexander Hamilton, Morris is considered one of the key founders of the financial system in the United States.

Morris owned an interest in many privateer ships, and also helped to sell off the English spoils as they came into port. While he was seen as profiting handsomely from this activity he wrote a friend that he lost over 150 ships during the war and so came out "about even." In fact he had lost one of the largest private navies in the world during the Revolutionary War, but he never asked for reimbursement.

Morris proposed proposed to make the American currency a decimal currency, an idea that was unique at the time.

Thus, if you are looking for a "Morris code" perhaps (all those all of us is speculative) it refers to a number using decimals such as GPS.

Totally apart from these out-loud speculative musings, what is the range of GPS numbers applicable to various NYC boroughs?

more fun Morris trivia
although I don't understand comments to press as clues

The Apotheosis of Washington depicts George Washington becoming a god (apotheosis). Washington, the first U.S. president and commander-in-chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, is allegorically represented, surrounded by figures from classical mythology. Washington is pictured with a rainbow arch at his feet, flanked by the goddess Victory to his left and the goddess Liberty to his right. Morris is depicted receiving a bag of gold commemorating his financial services during the Revolutionary War. Morris had loaned $10,000 to pay Washington's troops.

"Peace, courage, fortitude and justice matey."
"I am your friend, I am."

Mulligan says:

"Peace, courage, fortitude and justice mateys. I am your friend, I am."

This was discussed in connection with the Maine Monument located at Columbus Circle and entrance to Central Park which commemorates the more than 250 sailors who perished in 1898 when the battleship Maine exploded in the harbor of Havana, Cuba.

The base consists of statues of allegorical figures representing Justice, Peace, Victory, Courage and Fortitude.

"I am your friend I am," Mulligan says.

Who is the friend of Justice, Peace, Victory, Courage and Fortitude?

The monument itself is a massive 44-foot limestone pylon. Crowning the pylon is a gilded bronze sculpture of Columbia Triumphant (Liberty Triumphant) in a seashell chariot pulled by three seahorses. Churning through the gilt waves, Columbia signifies the United States' dominance of the seas. The monument salutes the Americans killed in the war.

This could bring it full circle -- connecting Mulligan's "Morris Code" and the allegorical depiction of Mercury (representing commerce) giving Morris a bag of gold.

Such speculation is all very fanciful but it would never hurt to consider whether any of the myriad of numbers refers to a decimal code (e.g., GPS).

I assume by GPS coordinates you mean latitude and longitute... NY is ~ 40 45' N and 73 57' W.

Robert Morris v. Robert Morse Hunt
although like all a diversion, just as clarification

Are you thinking of someone else? (like Robert Morse Hunt?)

Robert Morris on the $10 silver certificate signed the Declaration of Independence.

Here we go again....

Okay. Richard Morris Hunt designed the base of the Statue of Liberty.

That's all I'm saying.

and oh yeah? You cannot go up to the torch anymore (crow's nest) since the BLACK TOM explosion of 1916.

Awhile ago, someone asked "Who is the 'friend' of 'Justice, Peace, Courage and Fortitude?". Would not that answer be Liberty? Since the top of the Maine Monument is ALSO Liberty?

Something to think about.

Ok, so episode 3

I just wanted to dump my thoughts and see what people say:
Everyone seems set on getting in the subway system at Columbus Circle I think that this is re-enforced because CNN's studios are right there.

First interpretation:
1)First go to 34th - Orange and Yellow lines meet gotten from feed colors
2)Transfer to Northbound R - Cortlandt station is long enough to only accomodate 4 train cars and is NB only
3)Head to either Queens Plaza, Jackson Heights, or Forest Hills - Orange, Yellow, and Blue lines meet gotten from feed
4)Transfer to the E

Second interpretation:
1)First go to 34th - Orange and Yellow lines meet gotten from feed colors
2)Transfer to Southbound R train - Reference to Cordlandt St Station to show which fork to take in downtown manhattan.
3)Take that to the Atlantic Yards area - Area has two yellows two oranges an a blue on the subway map
4)transfer to the A or C

Third interpretation:
1)Start on the blue line - the A or C - because Fafa and Mario are on the blue
2)Head south to west 4th and transfer to the orange line
3)Continue south until you can transfer to the R line Northbound
4)Continue until you get to Canal st - has a second yellow.

I feel that the first interpretation makes the most sense out of these choices. However, I don't know if it these choices are really all that good. The only things I feel absolutely sure of with this episode is the reference to Cortlandt Station means they've been there before, and the blue line reference with Mario and Fafa

Episode 3 Doubts

I still don't think the colors of the squares they are in refer to lines, but only to the seats of the subway. As if to show that the pirates are currently riding the subway when they are being interviewed.

I am trying to figure out which train lines have those colors. (I think it might only be the B and D), which narrows the train possibilities.

I also don't know about Cortlandt being the correct stop. First, it is not spelled properly, and the pirates have made no mention of making a mistake (which they did when we couldn't understand "48 armies."). Also since the "R" is missing from "Cental Park" and there's an extra "0" in 10,0000, these seem like purposeful clues.

Also Cortlandt, from my knowledge at least, does not allow for only 4 cars.

I have one theory that support the pirates going in multiple directions, which is sparked on by Larry saying "These days, pirates are all over the place." Maybe just a random line, but it could be supportive.

Finally, what do you guys think about Mario and Fafa not being on the blue line, but being outside (thus the blue sky behind them). So when the blue screen is below, the "train" that the pirates are riding is going over a bridge (sky underneath), and when they are now above, that is because the "train" is now underground again, and Mario and Fafa are on the "right track" above them.

If anyone gets any further because of this info, please return the favor and help a lost solo player out. I know some of these ideas are different, but they still seem more rationale than some of the super-complicated solutions that have been thrown around so far.
