Re: maybe not so EPIC but still a FAIL!

If my one brief trip to the subway station proved the seat theory wrong, then it is not valid or substantial. Clues given should be constants.

Besides... if they tell you WHAT STATION to go to in clues.... they don;t need to tell you what line to take. You can figure it out.

Even though someone earlier said, "The colors in Ep. 3 are DEFINITELY representing the LINES (A, B, D, etc.) and not just sitting in a subway seat."

Were the seats in these trains of your gray or bluish? If you're saying the straight line train type with gray seats was attached to a multi-color configured car, I call shenanigans and declare pics or it never happened. There are three car types that spring to mind: mulit-colored, blueish, and gray. Could you be more specific?

Or maybe this is a misunderstanding; I was generally taking issue with your hard line about dedicated cars on a line, which is still mighty wrong. I said it's possible the colors behind them are merely seat colors and so we need to look elsewhere for train clues "if that is relevant....if important", you seem to have come to that conclusion as well, but still seem to be getting mighty high and mighty about something.

How can you tell if Crothers is alive or dead in Episode 4?

I don't care about the seats anymore. Moving on.

It really doesn't matter. Lines / seats / whatever.... we're on the subway.

If you can show me on the internet where you can decipher what color seats are on what trains, then fine. I'm not going to take pictures of that and post just to prove it. It doesn't. matter. We are on the subway. It's a moot argument.

As for how we know that Crothers isn't dead in Episode 4... there is no hole in his chest, he is not translucent, and he is not a parrot.

I think if he were dead there would be an indicator. He looks just like he does when he is alive and I mean he is alive.

Unless, Of course, the directions stay along the subway line, then it puts you up near Columbia University and Riverside park.

Maybe you don't put it there... maybe you use it after that "port of courtland", but i am absolutely certain you use it in the episode prior and not after.

I understand the logic of moving that CLUE backwards, but the remainder of the episode belongs after Monkey Business, when Crothers loses his leg. Remember, only Tom's clues are moved to different episodes, and the Furlongs clue is different.

I think gttx is making an important point. Tom's appearance in episode 4, and Crothers' section with the numbers could belong in different places in terms of episode numbering.

So, Episode 4 is an oddball

I have always been uneasy with clue #41 being "28 furlongs", because it says "Clue 28", not just 28.

What if the clues in Episode 4 are not clues #41, 42, and 43? Suppose they are all modifications of clues in other episodes. Tom's "avoid the way you've known" and possibly "northern part" modifies clue #41, which is in another episode. "This be insultin' to the whole video" modifies clue #42 (somehow). Instead of the clue being "28 furlongs", we are informed that clue #28 is in units of furlongs. And clue #43 takes us too far.

I still think I'm right about the seats and being on the A line Smile I'm not sure what crazy trains you're riding on. Generally they're very consistent about the kinds of cars they run on each line.

ive totally been thinking the same thing, that the furlongs and 28 are meant to mean 28 furlongs.

Aaaargh! Yes. I was simply excited that I figured out why Tom's part was backwards... and that it belongs in the previous episode to WHEREVER Episode 4 belongs.

Sorry... I'm kinda losing my sanity over here Shocked

Re: and it's

Gone too far reminds me of the final episode when Mulligan goes past the crow's nest and then turns around and comes back to it.

Has anyone tried numbering the definite clue locations? I think it's possible for episodes one and two. At three it gets murky.

CLUES

What if the Ep. 4 "CLUES" are just that and not clue numbers? They just say CLUE 41 CLUE 42, etc. not CLUE #41, etc.

So what I be sayin' is that the clues are 41, 42, 28 (furlongs), and 43
