gifts
to Cap'n

I think the rational game theory approach in approaching a difficult "solve" is to share information, not hoard it. So you'll want to have your private meetings and like with the other fellow who thinks he found gifts that will lead to him treasure.

If I had found them, I would post pictures and solicit help from the likes of jrc, SoloJoe and UDmas. If someone like jrc or UDmas or SoloJoe or someone on the forum found the treasure helped by something I said, it would be a great thrill.

Remember in the end, unless everyone wins, nobody wins.

The confirmation link took a little bit to work for me as well ..

I just wanted to ask one question about the "gifts" and I think it's sufficiently vague enough to not give it away (correct me if I'm wrong) but is it a physical object or no?

Hold on a second.

The "gifts" are a clue. They are also quite tangible.

The answer on the FAQ is correct. They left nothing to be found.

Although I share will share and decipher pertinent information here, there are some things that I do not share. This is a contest after all.

And trust me, other people are doing the same thing. I can almost guarantee it.

Simply by me telling you there are gifts to be found, I am helping you out, am I not?

Follow up

Oh yeah also just to follow up - I checked the Cortlandt st station for the R and my friend was wrong - she thought I was talking about the red line cortlandt station. I checked out the courts at portland ave in fort greene. There are five entrances to the courts, but something about it doesn't seem particularly to click. So, I dont know.

CommonSense and gifts

Hey everyone,

I'm also new to posting in here, but have been following the hunt for the beginning. Commonsense I totally agree that some people are digging way to deep to be able to stay on the actual path. Although a lot of what they come up with is pretty interesting and a testament to how clever the puppeteers are (and all the people figuring everything out. )

Regardless I think a lot of what is in the videos are just smart writing, red herrings and homages, the clues that keep us on the path to the actual treasure are much more straight forward.

Sadly I'm totally lost on these "gifts" you speak of. I'm going to be really digging into all the clues this weekend, but if you wanted to help us out with a hint that would be awesome. If not I totally understand.

LOL they're pulling our leg with using the word "gift"
That would tell me that by researching a clue, you are GIVEN something. In which I will say they are not, very confident on that. And if it were common sense, I'd say someone would have solved it by now, being that we're all slow to pickup and all Razz Rolling Eyes Wink

Re: what do you make of what is in Tutty's hammock?
is it a manila folder?

The picture of Tutty is on the wall.

What is that in his hammock?

Is it a manila folder?

If so, what is it doing there?

Consider the possibility that there are instructions for redemption conveyed by either tape recorded message (if the right number is called) or by mail.

Back episodes of Moonlighting are available in your local library system if anyone wants to check out "Under the Rainbow" in Season 2.

What is the point of the name MADDIE HAYES? Just a homage to a fun tv series before these blokes were watching such shows? Or are people involved in the production referring to shows on which they worked. (I don't know -- I'm a sucker for a theory that is all warm and fuzzy).

IMO, its supposed to be a pillow, but perhaps it is a folder..

And is that tutty's hammock? Or captains?

Port of Cort-Court-Cortlandt

I think we are missing an obvious issue about this clue and the episode.

I think the "Port of Cort-Court-Cortlandtland" is still Columbus Circle.

Look at the subway map and you will see why. Also? For "clue type order", the clue of "Port" comes WAY to early in the episode to be a DESTINATION.

There is another reason why they would call Columbus Circle the "Port of Cort/Courtland". If you find it in the episode, you will probably agree with me.

See? I DO help Smile

The Larry King Redux

I'll buy Port of Cortland as Columbus Circle. See the picture below, and it is clearly the north end of the park, which suggests to me there is validity of the theory about Subways. Then, when Fafa appears on the blue screen, he says "we are on the right track". The only blue line train that stops at CC is the C.

Now here is where more spurious analysis comes in:
- Going South, 3.5 miles (28 Furlongs) puts you at about Canal St. (But then again, they say that's "too far".
